The Jack LaLanne Power Juicer is one of my favorite kitchen appliances.  We bought it so that we can introduce healthier juice options to our children, especially during our oldest's stages of avoiding veggies altogether.

Quality You Pay For
The only "con" I can think of for this product, is its price.  We paid approximately $100 for this juice, but we wanted the best, and we believed the reviews and trusted the advertisements.  We were not dissappointed.  It is very easy to use and the pulp really is a lot drier than the pulp that is left behind by other juicers.  This means you are getting as much juice as possible out of the fruit and vegetables you juice.

Leave It On The Countertop
We don't have very much counter space, so for a while our juicer was not being used, simply because it was always stashed and we didn't feel like pulling it out and putting it together everytime we decided to make juice.  A good friend of ours, who also happens to be very health-conscious, advised us to get a juicer.  When we told her that we had the Power Juicer she commented that it was a really good juicer, and that we should not have it put away.  She advised us to make some room on our countertop, and leave the juicer there at all times for easy access.  I followed her advice and have found that I've been using the juicer a lot more often.

How To "Juice"
The Jack LaLanne Power Juicer is so easy to use.  It has a drop hole at the top front where you insert whole veggies and fruit (except for those that you are advised not to, like oranges, for example) and let them get juiced in their entirety.  Even grapes can be dropped in, branches, seeds and all.  Of course, they have to fit.  I have found that most apples do not fit in it, despite what you've seen Jack LaLanne do on the informercials.  I'm sure he used very small apples.  So you still have to cut some of them up until they do fit.  My favorite and easiest juice to make is apple/carrot.  My girls love it and it's extremely good for them.  If you're wondering how you'll ever figure out what combinations make the best juices, what you can refrigerate (some juices should not be stored) and what fruit and vegetables should not be juiced in their entirety - this juicer comes with a great informational manual and recipe book.  You can also always look up some more juice recipes online.

Easy Cleaning and Assembly
If you have a dishwasher, cleaning couldn't be easier.  Unfortunately for us, we are the dishwashers.  The juicer comes with a cleaning brush to help you scrub the bits of pulp that stick to the blade and filter, but other than that, it really is very easy to clean.  It's advisable to clean it up right after every use so that the pulp does not dry and the vegetable/fruit juice does not stain or get rancid or moldy inside your machine.  I've had the dried out pulp before, but thankfully, I've not forgotten about it long enough to grow mold in my juicer.

Pulp Non-Fiction
The pulp can be "recycled" and used in soups and sauces or even in baking.  If you have a picky eater, like I do, it's a great way to hide veggies in foods and sauces so your little one won't detect it, but will gobble it up.  Spaghetti sauce or pizza sauce, for example!  You can hide them in ground beef for tastier hamburgers, meatballs and meat loaves!  Hide some of the sweeter pulp in a chocolate cake.  Bake a yummy carrot cake!  The possibilities are endless.

Children Love It
This is also a fun way to get your children to help you.  Children are more eager to try new things if they've helped you make it.  Make some interesting juice combinations with their help and watch their eyes as the juice from that orange carrot comes pouring out the spout.  Ask them what color they think the juice might come out.

This turned out to be an excellent purchase for us.  We usually try to save money wherever possible.  But, we knew we could not skimp on this product if we wanted the best.  I believe the best is what we got.

I had wondered if this really worked and didn't know anyone who owned it. Good review.
