My husband and I bought this camera as a Christmas present to ourselves this past year. The camera is very user friendly and is mostly self explanitory (we hardly had to look at the instruction manual) I love how small it is and easy to carry around places. My husbands parents live in Peru and he likes to send DVDs home to them every so often to let them know how life is going. This camera makes it easy to do that.
We also bought the Everio Share Station which allows you to plug the camera right into it and burn a DVD directly from the camera (acts as a regular DVD burner as well). That's a nice feature because our computer isn't doing it's best at the moment and I would have to do all the DVD making at work. The camera keeps the scenes seperated and you can choose which you want burned and which you don't.
I love the size of the screen that allows you see what you're filming, it's large enough to tell what you're actually doing! I also like that this camera is a hard drive as opposed to cameras that record right to the DVD or mini-tape. All in all, it's a great camera to use, especially for beginners who are used to using a camcorder that record directly to tape!
