All in all, I'm pleased with this little JVC camcorder.  Then again, it was given to me as a gift, so what's not to like about that?  It's small, lightweight, and compact -- enough so that it easily fits in the same carrying bag as my digital camera, which is incredibly convienent.  The camcorder has 45 optical zoom and doubles that with digital, making it easy to capture video from a distance without sacrificing quality of the recording.  Battery life isn't bad and because it uses SD memory, it's easy to swap out cards when you need to.  If you're not interested in the highest quality recording, there are several options which effectively make a gig of memory useful for at least one hour of videoing -- less if you want a higher quality recording.  Sound capture is amazing -- the built in speakers aren't very loud but when transferred to a computer, the movies sound great!  The LCD screen folds out, twists around, and can be laid back flat along the body of the camera facing outwards, making it easy to capture video no matter what the angle.  The only rather awkward bit about the JVC Everio is the placement of the actual record button -- it's on the back of the camera, so if you're holding it with the hand grip (which can also be made into a wrist strap for carrying), it's a bit difficult to activate without jerking visible at the beginning of the recording.  All in all, very pleased with this little camera, though!

if u have the money to spend then this is for you. you get what you pay for. nice compact model and its durable plus it is light weight for its size. high mega pixel with excellent picture and sound anyone can use this product with ease even if yu are not familiar with camcorders user mannuel included and aot of features. it is very stylish and looks very high tech and expensive. if i had the money and was looking for a camcorder to purchase i would defettanly consider purchasing the jvc everio gz - ms230 camcorder it also takes digital pictures tat yu can save on the cameras built in memory or on a memory card that you can download your pictures on to your computer or share with friends or anyone you can think of. i would probably just wait a little while untill they come out with a new model so the price drops for this camcorder because it pretty much has everything the only thing they can really do to it is change its looks and size other than that its at the top of its game no doubt about it.

I think the camcorder is a very good producut. I would reccommend this product to anyone who is searching for an amazing camcorder. It is a small handy camcorder that doesnt take up a lot of space. I like the quality of the camera and also the texture of the camcorder. It is very convienent for anyone that travels and needs lightweight to take with them. It doesnt require much space and is very useful in many situations. It has very reliable performance and it is also a great color choice. The people that say that is has poor ergonomic design i dont think that would be very accurate information. I will agree that it needs more memory because we as people love something thta we can store a lot of memory on and remember the special times in our lives. I would rather this camera 4 out of 5 stars due to the camcorder needing more memory and that is the only reason. I have nothing else to say but JVC makes good products and GOOD LUCK!!!!!

This camcorder has execlent quality video multi functions an is very reiliable. i would recomend this camcorder to anyone in the market for one.  It is also a a decient buy , and has a long batery life.

This camera met and/or exceeded most if not all of my expectations. I would probably recommend this camera to some of the people i know. It's compactness was questionable and i often worried about its toughness to hold up to harsh treatment. Although the small size did make it quite nice for taking on African expeditions when it was required to pack very light. The playback features were all very useful, the way you could choose to pause, play, rewind, fast forward, and stop all by pushing tiny buttons was incredible. The buttons were very responsive and you could delicately maneuver the tape to exactly were you want it. Which is great for editing together animal footage while on your African safari's. My favorite part is that when i purchased my JVC Everio I was amazed at the amount of color choices I had. I originally thought I would get the classic silver color, but then decided to be a little wild and get a the blue one!
