great sound isolation
I almost always prefer in-ear headphones, but when I need to listen something in a noisy environment, I found Senheiser HD280 is the right thing for me. It's big and a little heavy, but I think it's still comfortable to wear since it's quite soft. Anyway, it's much better than using a pair of in-ear headphones and try to cover your ears with your hands. It's kind of big for travelling, but I think the pleasure it brings to enjoy music in crowded restaurants is worth the bother.
I don't have trained ears, so the main reason that I love Senheiser HD280 is its excellent job in isolating outside sounds. It's also comfortable to listen, with smooth and clear sound quality. I don't know how to rate its sound quality in a more professional way, but I would say for casual listeners like me, it should be all satisfying in terms of sound quality. It's price is nice, too. I also admitted that I love it partly because it's Senheiser, a brand of which I've heard mostly positive comments.
