Quick View: I liked JK Jemma Kidd Air Kiss Shine Lip Gloss in the shade Poser so much that I bought the shade Dress 2 Impress and like it as much or even better. This gloss is really good stuff and worth the $16.00 a tube.
My Take on JK Jemma Kidd Air Kiss Shine Lip Gloss - Dress 2 Impress
This lip gloss is available only at Target stores and target.com as is the whole line of JK Jemma Kidd cosmetics. There are some of her cosmetics online at one high end site but they are different than what Target carries. Jemma Kidd is a British makeup artist who brought her line to the US and I have to say, so far everything I tried is really, really good! And pricey.
After I tried JK Jemma Kidd Air Kiss Shine Lip Gloss in the shade Poser, which is a super flattering deep pink, I started getting the urge for the deeper red hued shade, Dressed 2 Impress. I had seen it at Target and it looked too red for me but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to try it and, like any cosmetics junkie, I ended up buying it.
JK Jemma Kidd Air Kiss Shine Lip Gloss in the shade Dressed 2 Impress is a red shade but not a garish, bright red. On the contrary, it looks like my own lips only enhanced and shiny. I was really pleasantly surprised that the shade was so natural looking.
This gloss is pigmented and not sheer. It's almost a lipstick yet isn't thick or waxy nor is it it sticky. It smooths on easily and lights up my lips with beautiful color and shine. There is no shimmer in the gloss which I am happy about although it does have a slightly reflective look.
The gloss stays on the usual time, maybe an hour to an hour and a half under normal circumstances but, like the shade Poser, when this gloss starts to fade, it leaves behind a stain on the lips. This stain keeps lips from being bare and is a matte light red shade. It looks like my lips are more pigmented and "just bitten". I love that the gloss doesn't just disappear but that it actually is a stain and gloss in one.
I wore Dress 2 Impress to the movies last night and it was still on after about three hours. When it started to fade, it did so naturally and without patchiness and left behind a nice stain that looked totally natural. Although pricey at $16.00, I love this stuff and may even get yet another shade although the others look quite light. I wish there was a plum shade but I see mostly pinks and a nude color. i think the idea behind these glosses is to enhance natural lip color not to dramatically change it.
My Viewpoint
Another home run for JK Jemma Kidd! I don't rate these glosses at 5 stars because they do wear off quickly like most glosses but at least I am left with some color when the shine and brighter pigment is gone. I really like Dress 2 Impress and, will wear it often. Poser is for less drama, Dress 2 impress is for a bit more oomph. A great duo if you ask me. 4 stars.
