Consumers have plenty of choices when they decide to shop for clothing, home furnishings, etc. and there are many established retailers that lead the pack. One of the giants in retailing is a store that has been around a long time and is now popular as an online shopping destination. That store is J.C. Penney and its online presence is JCPenney.com. Let's take a closer look at this retail operation from a web site standpoint:

J.C. Penney is one of the world's most widely available retail stores with more than 1,000 locations in the USA and in many foreign countries....

I like that lots of the ladies clothing comes in Tall Sizes, but I wish it didn't cost more to get the Tall size than the regular or petite sizes. There is generally a good selection of basic clothing and then some. I don't like to pay shipping charges, but they often offer free shipping for "limited time periods", so I just wait until one of those comes along. I am registered with them so I always get this information via email... very handy.

I had to wear taped up glasses for 4 weeks because the ones ordered from JC Penney Optical on October 12, 2009 were not ready until today, November 5, 2009.  Glasses with regular frames, progessive (no line bifocal) and anti-glare on poly carbonite lenses.

Fantastic bargain, everything, half price. $461.00 glasses for $231.00! But if I had known it would take four weeks, I would have found another store.

   I LOVE JC PENNYS. MY FAMILY AND I GO TO PENNYS ALL THE TIME. TWICE A YEAR THEY HAVE SUCH A GREAT SALE ON EVERYTHING.ITS CHEAPER THAN GOING TO WALMART OR KMART. MY CHILDREN ARE MARRIED AND THEY GO TO THE SALES THAT THEY HAVE TWICE A YEAR AND THEY BUY CLOTHES SO THAT THEY HAVE CLOTHES FOR EVERY SEASON AND SPEND UNDER 100.OO. I DO THE SAME.   

Bought the Kid's Package for both of my children and was told they had a two year warranty and would be replaced if anything happened.  Well, my daughter's puppy chewed on her glasses and when I called to ask if it was covered I was assured it was.  Went into the store to order the new ones and THEN was told that I had to pay an additional fee for the replacement, and not because of how they were damaged...that's their policy!  This was never explained to me at the time of purchase or during my phone call.  They wait until I come in to spring it on me.  NOT HAPPY!!!

Plus, the glasses aren't...

i love shopping both on-line and walk in stores with Penney's ...I do not like the fact that if you return something bought online you do not get your shipping charges so I always try for free shipping...I get the best deals there...when I am in store most of the clerks are very nice and polite and drop everything they are doing in order for me to feel like I am just making their day just by being in their store...and often times they welcome me back by name which makes me feel really important.

the store is almost alwasy spotless except during really big sales and very buy days when thoughtless,...

I paid for my glasses in late July of 2009.  It took 4 weeks to get them and when I did, the lens fell out.  Waited another 3 weeks (no attempt to expedite the repair from the lab).  Finally got them and there was an error with the script (no fault of JCPenny).  I have now waited an addition 5 weeks and have not yet recieved my glasses.

JCPenny Optical in Novi has very poor service and a turnaround time that is way too slow.  The folks staffing the store are helpfull by the service time at the lab will kill their business.

I DO NOT RECOMMNED USING JCPENNY FOR PURCHASING YOUR GLASSES.
