JcPenny Masterpiece Towel Set

I love a big, fat, fluffy towel when I get out of the shower.  I want softness, warmth and comfort.  Basically I want my bathrobe in towel form.

Over the years I have tried many different types of towels from many different stores and have always ended up disappointed.  The softest doesn't last, the colors fade..it's always something.

I had never tried the towels from JCPenney's and my Grandmother had kept telling me that they were the best and stay soft, etc.    So when it was time to remodel my bathroom, I headed on over to JcPenney's and bought a whole bathroom set and matching towels.  The towels weren't cheap but not what I would consider expensive either.  JcPenney's even has the BIG towel for a couple of dollars more. I ended up buying a few BIG towels, as well.  I was hoping to get a good couple of soft and fluffiness out of my new JcPenney towels.

Flash forward six months.

My JcPenney Masterpiece towels are faded and not fluffy.  There is no comfort when using these towels to dry off.  The color I bought is the same exact towel that is pictured and now they are a funky weird green color (no they didn't get bleached, they faded).  After a few washes, we couldn't tell the difference between the BIG towel and the regular size towels.  The BIG towel was a waste of a couple extra bucks.

So...now I'm back on the towel hunt....where do I find my soft, fluffy, non-fading post-shower warmth?

I love the Fieldcrest towels that I got from Target. You can check out my review on them if you like. I can't afford to buy dept. store towels.

I couldn't agree more with your review! I put those towels on my gift registry list @ JCP, thinking they would stand up well after multiple launderings. Too bad they are all faded and pill up really easily now. Now I buy 5 Star Bath Towels from Martha Stewart (K-Mart)...had a set in college that I still use...5 years later!

Yeah, most towels I find today are just too thin. JC Penney used to be known for quality!!

It's so hard to find great towels for decent prices. I have some but completely forgot where I got them. DOH!

I don't usually notice stuff like towels, but I did notice my JC Penney towels are getting bunched up on the ends and faded too. Maybe they're cutting quality to try and save money? In the end they'll lose customers.
