Most people come home from vacation with t-shirts and taffy. I came home with Joe Bug - a little parakeet. I saw him at the flea market in Murphy, NC three years ago. I was not buying another pet - no way. Famous last words. — Joe was supposed to be a boy bird, but he lays eggs - pretty good clue that. We still call the bird "he" most of the time. — I've had a number of parakeets (and my son has a cockatiel). Joe Bug is the most social parakeet I've owned. She's also the smartest I'd say. She opens her cage doors (if we don't keep clothespens on them), and she will come looking…

I absolutely love this company's toys as do my budgies! These toys actually involve the bird in play. I had a most beloved cockatiel die because of lead poisioning from some of the toys that he had had from his previous family. My vet went over some of the safe materials/toys to use for my other birds. I went to the pet store and found 4 Activtoys and purchased them. I showed them to my vet and she loved them. These toys are mainly made of plastic. So there is no worry of lead. The only concern I have with this line is the bells that they…
