The Case — When I finally got around to starting the Harry Potter series, I devoured book one. It was with great anticipation that I moved on to book two. I'm happy to report that I enjoyed it quite as much as the first! Though it doesn't tie in with the following books as much as I hoped it would, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is definitely worthy of its place in the Potter series! — The Plot (Spoiler-free!) — Harry Potter is more than ready for his second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but this time around, someone doesn't want him there. … read full review »

The second enstallment of Harry Potter aids new characters, not so well rounded as our hero and his friends.  These are the dark characters of Lucius Malfoy and some of his family and friends.  It also itroduces the reader to Dobby a fresh, new and vital character.  Dobby brings life into a story that at first seems to stahl. — Ms. Rowlings does seem to decide on a set course however and by the middle of the book the story is not so confusing.  She leads us through paths of horror and susspense, laughter and tears. — As usuall excellent character development… read full review »

Year two for Harry Potter is destined to be very busy and dangerous. Dobby, the house elf to the Malfoys, tries his very hardest to keep Harry away this year, because he knows what is in store. After several attempts to keep him away, Harry still ends up at Hogwarts, where terrible things are about to happen. An admiring Ginny becomes the unwitting puppet of Tom Riddle and his diary. A new, self involved professor, Gilderoy Lockheart and a new house ghost, Moaning Myrtle, make things a little more interesting. Someone or something starts targeting the students into stone, and it all… read full review »

I totally agree with Nicole from TX!.... When I finally got around to starting the Harry Potter series, I devoured book one. It was with great anticipation that I moved on to book two. I'm happy to report that I enjoyed it quite as much as the first! Though it doesn't tie in with the following books as much as I hoped it would, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is definitely worthy of its place in the Potter series!   I read them all that were out at the time and eagerally awaited the next ones...they are great for adults and kids...well written and that is all there is… read full review »

This was an amazing 2nd year of Harry Potter. It shows more about their magical world and the indtroduction of more magical creatures(elf, phoenix). this also gives the first picture of the early life of Voldemort. the book gets much more dangerous in the final than the last one. this book also introduces more characters and brings the older characters into limelight. Naturally a MUST… read full review »

J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" is a masterpiece. The plot and diction are written in a way that both children and adults can enjoy and every seemingly insignificant detail has importance to the story. She has created an imaginary world that is completely believable and so unbelievably intricate it may as well be real.… read full review »

Thank you again Rawling. Again, I couldn't put the book down. I love Harry, Ron, and Hermoine. My daughter and I just can't get enough. I love the Weasleys. The Chamber of Secrets is scary. I don't like snakes. I just love Harry's continued desire to solve a mystery and be the hero. He is great. A must read — … read full review »
