To the Point

I needed a new winter coat but I wasn't looking for one when I came upon the Izod Poly Down Front Zip Jacket with a Hood.

The retail price was $149 then it was marked down to $99. If you have an Izod store near you there will be more discounts on the great jacket. You can see one that is very similar to mine and sells for $94.00. Mine has two hidden side zippers for the pockets and this one doesn't. In addition this has a slightly different collar which you'll see iin my pictures. http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/31451722/c/632.html.

A Closer View

This coat is warm. I have two coats and they aren't warm enough. The 60% down and 40% feathers work. The website above says that one comes in black and silver which I saw in the store. The store had mine in white as well.

I love that it has a detachable hood.

It is machine washable and can be machine dried which I like a lot. If you've never dried down throw in a sneaker and that will fluff it back up. It's lined with polyester and is really comfortable.

The zipper is hidden which doesn't bother me per se but it does make snapping the snaps a tad difficult but not enough for me not to have bought it and not to love it.

It comes in sizes small (4-6); medium (8-10); large (10-12) and extra large (12 - 14). It runs true to size. I took the large because I'm generally a 10 top. If you don't plan on wearing heaving items under it then go with the medium but I like to go on the side of bigger. It falls a tad longer on me than on the woman in the picture. I'm 5'4" and I really like that it goes just beyond my hips.

Note: Some people really don't like advertising for the company. IZOD is embroidered on the upper left arm in black. You really have to look to see it.

I'm more or less neutral on the wear-an-ad issue. I don't like having to wear BIG labels that say "Old Navy" in big, bold letters, but if it's the Lacoste alligator or the Ralph Lauren polo pony-and-rider, I don't mind.

Mark, I agree. I won't advertise for companies that have The Gap written on the top but this was so subtle and so worth the price:) Jo

I'm one of them. People who don't advertise for companies, that is. Anything with a prominent logo is auto-magically tagged "tacky" in my mind and gets put back on the racks for the trailer park crowd to buy.
