It's a Wonderful Life Review

I have always loved "It's a Wonderful Life" since I was a kid.  We would always watch it on Thanksgiving night after a wonderful and filling family meal at my grandmother's house.  I love the story and Jimmy Stewart can't be beat!  Watching this movie is one of my personal traditions around the holidays.

Although I've always enjoyed this movie, I didn't fully appreciate it until about 2 years ago when we went to visit our daughter and son-in-law over the Christmas break.  While we were there, they took us to a renovated theater in Tampa, Florida.  It was a magnificent theater!  What an experience!  The theater was huge and the architecture inside and out was amazing.  There was a big stage in front with thick curtains.  As we found our seats, music began playing and up from beneath the stage rose an organ complete with an organist playing Christmas carols!  It was wonderful!  Then, they projected words up on the curtains and all the audience joined our voices to sing together Christmas carols.  I had never seen anything like it before!

To top it all off, the movie was shown on a huge screen!  I saw so many details that I could never have noticed on a tv screen just watching a video!  It was the highlight of our season that year and I've never forgotten the warmth of enjoying this special movie in this special way.

Needless to say, I love this movie and regardless of the venue, I recommend it to everyone!
