Tobi Steamer
I actually didn't purchase this since I wanted to try it before buying. I borrowed it from my friend who had stopped using it one week after buying it. The whole setup process was fairly simple, and getting it to work was not complicated. However, for the uses that it is advertised for, it didn't do a very good job. I attempted using it to clean and iron some drapes which it was not able to do. I used to steam clean our mattress which I am not sure it did a good job of since it didn't help make the mattress smell any better. It did a sufficient job on dress shirts but on some that were extremely...
review »Shark steaming Iron
I was researching a new iron when I came across a review for the same brand I'm replacing, the Shark w/ Auto Shutoff & Extended Steam Burst." I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but I had the same problems as one of the other reviewers. Maybe this will save someone else from purchasing this poor performing iron. At first it worked great. Then, it began doing odd things like shutting itself off WHILE I was ironing. I also had trouble with the steam. I think it's all related to the fact that it kept shutting itself off. And, there were times that it didn't want to heat...
review »Panasonic ni-c78sr
The Panasonic NI-C78SR iron is by far the best iron I have ever owned. My favorite features are the detachable water tank which makes it easier to fill without making a mess and the retractable cord. It also has an anti-calcium system to prevent buildup caused by hard water which can block the steam system. Plus, for under $40 this iron performs like the more expensive irons such as the Oreck Cordless Iron. This iron heats quickly and puts out lots of steam. Also, the temperature controls does a super job. The only reason I did not give the iron 5 stars is that my first Panasonic NI-C78SR iron...
review »Conair GS10N
I purchased the Conair steamer to help with making my waredrobe look better. I hate to iron and really didn't like having the iron upstairs in a bedroom with my clothes. I had always wondered about steamers and having used one when I worked in a retail years back, I knew they were an easy way to freshen up closet wrinkled cloths.
Of course those were professional steamers and I didn't want to spend the money on one. I tried out the Conair steam and I have to say I am impressed.
The steamer is small, portable, lightweight and hides in my closet out of view. The water container holds...
review »Rowenta Rowenta Iron DX1700
I don't love to iron but this rowenta iron makes the job a lot easier. The soleplate is
stainless steel and the iron is not too heavy to handle. The steam and spray functions
work well and wrinkles come out easily. It has a good safety feature which is an internal safety switch that will turn the iron off if it is plugged in but not moved after a certain amount of time. The water tank is somewhat awkward to fill but I got used to it after
using the iron several times.I haven't had any problems with water spitting or
leaking from the soleplate. So far it has worked well with any type of material I've
Shark Iron
My Shark Iron is the best Iron I've ever owned! I bought it a few years ago with a gift certificate (for my wedding) for Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I was looking for a nice iron, it had to be heavy, since I sew alot, a heavy iron is a lot easier to use. I don't have to put as much pressure on it for interfacing and stuff like that.
It has this wonderful steam burst. If I just can't seem to get a wrinkle out, I push the burst button and the extra steam is just what I need. It also has adjustable steam so if I'm sewing and doing interfacing I don't want any steam I just turn the steam off, but if I want...
review »Conair Garment Steamer
I hate to iron. Let's face it, you have to get out the ironing board, set it up, fill the iron with water, wait for it to heat, make sure you lay the clothing on the ironing board correctly or you'll end up with a crease where it shouldn't be, when you are done you have to leave the iron out to cool, empty the water out, put the ironing board away. Too much hassle for someone who is too busy to take things out and put them away. So I bought a Conair Garment Steamer a few years ago. Nothing fancy, but it works really well! It came with it's own hook to hang the nozzle on along with your clothing...
review »Conair Conair Upright Fabric Garment Steamer
I got this steamer to get the wrinkles out of linens that I rent for events. It worked a lot better than I expected. The tank is large and does not have to be refilled too often. The steam wand is long and can reach items that are hanging at normal closet rod height.
I have tried to steam linens that are already on the table and it sometimes spits water out because it is building up in the hose which has been bent and not held at an extended length.
It travels well. Just make sure to empty the water tank before taking it anywhere or it tends to leak a little. It breaks into 4 or 5 pieces that are...
review »Rowenta Steam Iron
I've had Rowenta irons for years. These things just keep going no matter how many times you drop them because you knock into the ironing board by mistake! The auto shut off feature works like a charm, especially because if you get a call and then want to resume, all you have to do is move the iron up and down and it turns back on and reheats quickly. Love it! And I really hate ironing, but this makes it bearable for short bursts!
Sunbeam Iron - Steam Master - 4222
This is a fantastic iron for the price. The steam function on the iron gets all the wrinkles out of my cotton garments. In addition, the retractable cord is great, but it does take a few tries to get the cord completely in the device. Filling the iron is breeze as it comes with a small measuring cup. The auto-off feature is additionally help if I walk away from the iron for a while. Overall, I am thoroughly satisfied with this product.
