If you grew up feeding your imagination, as I did, on Marvel and DC comics, you are very familiar with Iron Man. If not, you might just be asking, "Iron what now?". If you are asking that question, here's the perfect opportunity to get acquainted with one Mr. Tony Stark, billionaire, playboy, and purveyor of weapons to the military. As played by Robert Downey Jr. (and let me go on record telling you Mr. Downey is one of the finest actors of our time, and one of my favorites), Stark is also irresponsible and snarky, living the high life with little regard for how all those weapons his… read full review »

My husband kept saying, "This is the greatest movie EVER!" — I wouldn't go that far, but Iron Man is loads of fun, and seeing how Robert Downey Jr. gets suited up to be a super-hero is worth the ticket price alone.  Somehow I missed an entire original exposure to the Iron Man character (I was probably too busy with Barbie or my banana bike) but that didn't take away from the film experience at all.  This movie is rock-'em-sock-'em fun, with an updated look at the classic "superhero-with-a-smart-broad-who's crazy-about-him" story line.   — Sex on… read full review »

Bottom-Line:  Modernized (the threat is now the ubiquitous evil terrorist) Iron Man has been brought into the 21st Century in grand intelligent style. — Iron Man, like most Marvel superhero characters sprang from the mind of Stan Lee and first made an appearance in 1963.  The movie directed by Jon Favreau begins in the here and now with essentially the same back story: genius weapon-maker Tony Stark (Downey Jr.) is visiting Afghanistan to show off a new weapon the military when he is kidnapped by terrorist led by Raza (Faran Tahir) and his heart is damaged by shrapnel. … read full review »

I am not usually a fan of super hero type movies. Sure, I loved Batman Begins and love the classic Supermans, but, thats about it. So, with that being said, I could have cared less to see this one, but my husband loves this stuff, and as a kid, read all the comics. So, we decided to see a movie for our anniversary. We decided to visit the new big theatre that opened, and it was packed. Most movies were sold out, and since we had a sitter and was on borrowed time, couldn't wait for the next showing on most movies, so, I gave in and agreed to sit through Iron Man. My husband is a HUGE Batman… read full review »

Ever since seeing the trailer on TV I have wanted to see this movie.  The hero is a wealthy industrialist whose views on his company change after he is taken captive in Afghanistan.  Under the guise of building a weapon for his captors, he builds an iron suit with which to escape.  After he escapes and is resuced he halts production of weapons from his company and begins building another iron suit.  Meanwhile someone in is company is secretly selling his company's weapons to terrorists.  I won't go any further as it could ruin the movie for you. — The movie… read full review »

This movie has something for everyone.  Ladies, Robert Downey, Jr. is looking hotter than ever, lots of charisma and sex appeal.  Gwyneth Paltrow is perfect and perfect as ever as Pepper Potts, Stork's personal assistant.  Fellas, this move has lots of great action, special effects and a general throttling of the bad guys.  Weapons design, fighting on foreign soil (namely Middle Eastern) hits home in today's reality.  Downey keeps the laughs coming as the playboy president of Stork Enterprises.  Perfect superhero movie.  Really well written and acted movie… read full review »

Great movie with a great cast.   I never followed the comics and was glad to see that you didn't have to be an "insider" to enjoy the film.   I saw it on opening night before reading any reviews.  I checked them out afterwards and was thrilled to see that the critics and fans enjoyed it as much as I did.   — It was great to see Robert Downey Jr. back.   He was perfect for this role.    — The special effects were great but the story was even better.   Great film all around —… read full review »

I loved Iron Man.  It was a portrayal of a different kind of superhero, kinda like the Dark Knight series of Batman.  Superman and Spiderman had  special abilities in their bodies.  Batman and Iron Man had cool suits/armor to protect them with all the high tech gizmos to kick some enemy butt.   I loved it.… read full review »

Iron man is awesome, especially how they go into detail all the technology involved.  The making of iron man and how he came up with the suit...it's all good.  The only thing that me kind of dissappointed was the second half of the movie when it wasn't about iron man anymore but more about the… read full review »
