Iron Man Review

My husband kept saying, "This is the greatest movie EVER!"
I wouldn't go that far, but Iron Man is loads of fun, and seeing how Robert Downey Jr. gets suited up to be a super-hero is worth the ticket price alone.  Somehow I missed an entire original exposure to the Iron Man character (I was probably too busy with Barbie or my banana bike) but that didn't take away from the film experience at all.  This movie is rock-'em-sock-'em fun, with an updated look at the classic "superhero-with-a-smart-broad-who's crazy-about-him" story line.  

Sex on Wheels 
Intellectual actor Gwynneth Paltrow bites down on this understated but oh-so-sexy role (Remember how adorable she was in Sliding Doors & Shakespear in Love?)  She pulls off her comic-bookesque character with aplomb.  And girls, get ready for RDJ as all-out eye candy.   Somebody's been living in the gym.... (Moms, there are just enough violence/torture and sex-themes scenes that I wouldn't be taking little boys to see this one)

The Bad Guys
Iron Man is set against today's Middle East conflict and brings up serious corporate accountability questions which you can reflect upon......or you can just get off on the movie's rock soundtrack, big fat rockets, fighter jets, Iron Man stunt tricks, and the oft-hilarious scenes in which Iron Man learns how to get his groove on.

Libby's Hot Tip:  Fellow reviewer MikeMaroon clued me in to say for a "final scene" after the credits roll.  So enjoy the cool graphics, and get your full money's worth! 

Ticket Sales = Sequels
I read that the entire cast has already signed on to reprise their roles for actor/director/swinger Jon Favreau, should the film's gross pique interest in Versions II and III.   Sign me up;  I'll be there!
