Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar —

To the Point

I have attempted to use chin up bars. As a women in her 50s who does not work out to compete this is a very hard task. But with a product like Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar, which my son-in-law has, it can be used for other exercises.

A Closer View

Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar is designed for the person who wants to work their back, chest and abdominal area with one piece of equipment for relatively little.

Iron Gym Total Upper Body Work Bar is simple to put up. Unlike other bars it doesn't have to be screwed into anything. It truly is 100% (don't quote me on the 100%) stable. Never did I feel (with the help of my husband) that I was going to pull it down or that Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar was wobbly.

I like the placement of the padded handles for working my inner back and the padding on the ends of the bar for working the outer muscles of my back.

Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar holds, according to the box, 300 pounds. No one over the weekend we spent with our daughter and son-in-law weighs close to 300 pounds but as I said above this metal felt very stable.

At first I thought Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar would be something that can be put in a suitcase to use while traveling. Although it wasn't difficult to put together this Bar is not one that I would consider portable. You really wouldn't want to be taking it apart and putting it together again unless you were moving!

I took the Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar down for the purpose of reviewing it and used it on the floor over the weekend. It is good for pull-ups, push-ups, and chin-ups. Now it was time for triceps dips and abdominal crunches.

Triceps dips work the part of your upper arm that flaps in the wind. They are very effective though they can be hard on your shoulders. I often do them on two aerobic benches. Since Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar is close to the ground I found the dips easier than I do when using two benches which require more strength and shoulder work.

Finally it is supposed to be useful for crunches. I don't advocate the old fashioned sit ups where we put our feet under the couch if you have any kind of back problems. If not then the Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar will work for you because it acts as a place to hold your feet when doing sit ups. If you start on the floor and don't come up all the way you'll be doing crunches and it will be easier on your back.

Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar measures 20 1/2 inches by about  8 inches by 7 inches and weighs a bit more than 6 pounds. It is designed to fit doorways 24 to 32 inches wide, with doorway trim or molding up to 3 1/2 inches wide.

The cost is in the $30.00 range.

Jo's Viewpoints

I have gotten to like the Iron Gym Bar because it is versatile. My "kids" only have Yoga equipment in their apartment (Though they do have a fitness room in the building.) so the Iron Gym is something that can be down when you just want a time out from what you are doing. Pull ups are a good way to relieve tension!
