I did a lot of looking around at air purifiers, some are ridiculously high priced and some are just energy wasters. I made my way to Sears and found exactly what I  was looking for in the Ionic Pro UV Germicidal Light air sanitizer for around $70 and it is doing a wonderful job of keeping the air in my home clean and fresh smelling.

I purchased one for my kitchen / dining area and one for my bedroom and so far the results are very good. 

This machine provides three stages of air sanitizing; 1st. the three speed fan draws in the stale air at the bottom, 2nd. the  UV lamp kills harmful airborne bacteria and viruses, 3rd. the clean and sanitized air circulates out of the top of the unit and back into the room.  You can select the level of sanitizing you want on the 3 speed fan which is a pretty neat feature. This purifier uses only 10 watts of electricity and is ETC listed.

Breathe easy knowing that this will kill cold & flu viruses; staph & strep bacteria and mold spores. With the real threat of the 'swine' flu on the horizon this is a great item to keep the air in your home safe from all  bad and unwanted 'guests' that live in it every day.

Also an important feature is the quite fan so it's not disturbing when sleeping. The UV light  can be a bit distracting as it is somewhat bright but nothing  you can't cover during the night. it's also relatively lightweight and portable so you can move it from room to room if necessary. I recommend this to anyone needing to clean the air in their home, office or both at a very reasonable price.

 Just so you all know, this is not a dust reducer though I am finding that I have to dust less often which for me, is a huge plus.
