Intex Metal Frame Pool

What is it?
Intex Metal Frame Pool is an above ground pool that you put up and take down, seasonally.  It is not a permanent pool.  Basically, it's a pool liner that is held up with PVC piping.  It also comes with a filter, cover and ladder.  The Intex Metal Frame Pool can be bought in most retail stores.

My Viewpoint!
I bought the Intex Metal Frame Pool last summer at Target on a whim.  I really wanted a pool for my family that didn't require me to sit on my knees or empty nightly.  I also didn't want a permanent pool because those are way too expensive.

As I was cruising by the summer section, I noticed the Intex Metal Frame Pool on sale and without thinking, bought it.   I am so glad that I did!

The Intex Metal Frame Pool has provided my family (and friends) with countless hours of fun in the summertime.  It's tall enough so we don't have to sit on our butts in the pool to completely cool off and wide enough where the whole family can swim together and not feel like sardines in a can.  I can float on my big raft and relax while the kids play without getting knocked over or in their way.

It didn't take long and it wasn't hard at all to put the pool together.  In fact, you probably don't even need to read the directions if you just look at the picture on the box.  Last summer when we took it down, it didn't take long at all.  When the pool was emptied of water, my husband wiped the liner down good, folded it up nicely and wrapped it in a tarp to be stored in our garage.   Our neighbors keep theirs up year round and while that may be easy, I wouldn't recommend it if you live in an area that gets a harsh winter, like Michigan!

Maintenance for the Intex Metal Frame Pool is low cost and takes little effort.  The supplies needed, chlorine and replacement filters, are inexpensive and easy to find in just about any retail store.

Our family has spent endless hot, humid hours in our Intex Metal Frame Pool and absolutely love it. I would recommend this pool to anyone looking for an inexpensive, above ground pool for under $250.00.

I just went through a scare with my pool....the filter started sucking up sand, so I had to drain it to fix my center drain. Turns out the idiot that installed it didn't install the drain plug on the bottom and that's why I was getting sand in my pump. Been re-filling the pool for 2 days now and then I have to balance the water so I can shut it down...So I haven't had time for much of anything for a week now....;(

It's kinda nice to take it down....although the grass is dead and stinky underneath. Maybe I should have added that part in my review? LOL

Our experience with our "temporary" pool has been so positive that my husband and are are researching permanent above ground, larger pools-hopefully, we can get one at serious discount at end of season, which means I will be looking to sell the intex kit....we have had a blast.

I think I will look for this one at the end of summer, for next year! Thanks!

If the pool hadn't come with this house I would have gone this way as well. Mine is a 24' round and is a chore to start up and winterize each year...;)

I noticed that you said your husband wiped down and folded the liner. I guess I know who wears the pants in your family (lol).

That's a good price. I know the regular above-ground pools can cost a small fortune.
