This is a serious dose of reality television. The show is all about intervention with real life people and how it effects not only the addicts but also their families. Most shows focus on people that are seriously addicted to drugs or alcohol. Each episode is gripping because you not only get to spend a day in the life of the addict, but you also see how it tears their families apart until they cannot stand it anymore and must start an intervention. The intervention brings the addicts to their breaking points and some give in to treatment and others you see go even further off the edge. I always find myself rooting for the families in the hope that they can help their loved ones get their lives together. The dose of real reality is when there isn't always a happy ending. This show airs on A&E and is a dose of gripping reality drama.
