The Intercontinental has a great location; We picked this hotel mainly on its location to city attractions. As for the room, it was pretty standard for most hotels; I liked the space in the closets for baggage as we were travelling internationally with lots of luggage for our next… read full review »

First off, I am here on business. My fiance flew in to see me. I was hoping this place would be romantic yet accomodating. Upon arrival, the hotel staff was rude and insulting. When I was being checked in, the lady behind the counter was very rude and when I asked her for my rewards number, she… read full review »

The InterContinental Chicago was very nice and I think that it was a good value. My husband and myself arrived in Chicago at about 9am. We knew that check-in was not till 3pm but we wanted to drop off our luggage. When we went to the counter they said that they already had our room ready for us. We were very pleased. The view was nothing specaticular but we were not in the room long enough for it make a difference. The location of the InterContinental is prefect. We walked almost everywhere we went. The hotel had a beautiful lounge with live music. The restuarant… read full review »

This hotel is perfectly located between the Mag-Mile and the loop. The historic building (a glorified Shriner Hall) and pool have an early 20th century feel similar to places like the Drake, the Plaza and Waldorf-A in NYC. While we were generally very satisfied with our stay, two events mared an otherwise wonderful experience. The first time our room was made up the bath was left without toilet tissue. Though there was tissue there when we left. There were no extra rolls anywhere in the room. When we called, we got the right away, sir treatment and someone arrive in about 10 mins. with a… read full review »

Overall, I'd rate my stay at InterContinental on Michigan Ave as a 4 out of 5. The location was great with excellent shopping and resturaunts well within walking distance or a short cab ride. In addition, the hotel was only a few blocks to the Red Line of the elevated train system. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and made for an enjoyable stay. I only had a few minor complaints/cautions to pass on. The room (#2607) was a bit small for the price and the view out the window was blocked by a HVAC unit. If traveling to Chicago by car, be aware that overnight… read full review »

We stayed on the 29th floor in the historical tower of the Intercontinental in Chicago. Our city and lake views were unbelieveable. To think we received such a great room simply because I meantioned we wanted a nice view since it was our first stay in Chicago. I was able to get some sharp photos of the Chicago Tribune tower and the Wrigley clock tower from our window! The bed was very comfortable and our bathroom spacious. We were within walking distance of so many sights such as Navy Pier, river boat tours, the Handcock Tower, the Art Institute, Giodono's pizza, and Nordstrom's to name only a… read full review »

The Intercontinental Hotel is in a great location. Across the street from Nordstroms and walking distance from Navy Pier, Water Tower, Theater District or many museums. Room size is tight. There was a leak from the shower next door that soaked through about 5'X5' or carpet right out side of my bathroom, so there was no choice but to step on the soden carpet if you wanted to use the bathroom. I was awakened by the carpet cleaning machine next door before 7AM and then they came to soak up the water from my carpet. They offered to change my room but I was leaving that day so it would have… read full review »

The Chicago Intercontinental Hotel was a good choice for us. The location was excellent; it was within walking distance of the Millenium Park, the Chicago Institute of Art, the architectural boat tours, and Michigan Avenue. A free trolley to Navy Pier was about two blocks away. The hotel had very nice amenities; one drawback was the very expensive breakfast. I think that problem will be remedied when the Starbucks opens in the lobby. We were close to other restaurants and one night we were able to walk to our dinner; the other night, a short cab ride took us to our destination.Shopping:… read full review »

The Intercontinental was convienently located downtown. Right in the heart of chicago. Located on the most traveled street north Michigan ave. The beautiful staircase was an attraction and once inside the room it was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of closet space and a manificient view of downtown. Also, the bathroom was nice and clean. Another plus was being able to order room service at anytime-open 24 hrs. Loved it!!Shopping: Short Walk, The Grand Lux Cafe is just a block away. There is a variety of great food to order. The menu has a huge selection of entrees. —… read full review »

For a weekend getaway, the InterContinental Chicago was fantastic. The location is very easy to get to and lends itself to numerous shops and restaurants. The room is spacious and has a great chaise lounge to sit and overlook Michigan Avenue. The wine and cheese bar is located on the main floor and is a perfect setting before you venture out or to enjoy before retiring to your room.Shopping: Long Walk, As you exit the front door of the hotel, you can leisurly walk down Michigan Avenue for shopping, restaurants and night life that is unlimited. —… read full review »

The room seemed old, the amenities (a 27 TV with very few channels? What is this, the Y?) were outdated and sub-standard. Ice on very few floors, no ice buckets, no in-room refrigerators, no microwave, and this is a Deluxe room in the Historic Tower? What a joke! If I prevent even ONE person from falling into their trap, I've done my job here. Dining: Short Walk, Weber's Restaurant, the charcoal grill folks, is a GREAT grill-themed lunch/dinner spot. Affordable, and when it's cold, a great summertime treat. —… read full review »

When we arrived, late afternoon on a Saturday, our room was not ready. We had an hours delay to complete our check in. We received breakfast coupons for a satisfacory compenstation ( unasked!). I loooked at these as minor annoyances which did n ot detract from our enjoyment of the trip. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends, and will stay again on our next trip to Chicagoo.Shopping: Short Walk, There is a free bus to the Navy pier. —… read full review »
