First off, I am here on business. My fiance flew in to see me. I was hoping this place would be romantic yet accomodating. Upon arrival, the hotel staff was rude and insulting. When I was being checked in, the lady behind the counter was very rude and when I asked her for my rewards number, she told me to do it myself. I could not believe it. Every question I asked her, she gave me a hard time. We tried to order room service for an hour or so. No one would answer the phones. I finally spoke to someone the next morning & they said my phone was broken and that's why no one answered. So, they said they'd get me one. I waited for an hour. No one came. I returned to my room with personal items being thrown away by housekeeping & no restocking of things. Room was not cleaned. No phone, etc. I ordered a bar package & they didn't restock, when I called for them to restock & provide necessary items, they came in and ran out of items for the bar. I was charged twice for the things they ran out of. We went for wine and cheese at the ENO bar. The waitress yelled at my fiance telling him to,"hurry up and order!" I was beside myself. I spoke with the manager. He gave me 1 free drink at the bar. What a joke. I spoke with another manager about more unauthorized charges charged to my room. She was put out with me and rushed me off the phone. She was angry and irritated on the phone with me. I travel for a living. I have NEVER been treated this way! Everytime I pulled up for valet parking, the staff just stood there. I had to walk up to them for help. When I told them I need to have my car parked, they just looked at me like I was a problem or crazy. When I called down to pick up my car, they actually asked me if I really needed it now. What a disgrace.

Few things are worst than having those who are paid to provide a service act like you are putting them out for daring to ask them to provide it! I live in the Chicago area and this is one hotel I will avoid on future extended visits. Thanks for the heads up; sorry your stay was so fraught with rudeness. Try the Palmer House Hilton the next time you’re in town. Vincent
