I got the Insignia Flat Panel speakers to plug into my MP3 player to have music in my sewing room while I work.  what they don't tell you on the outside of the package is that they are ONLY USB or Battery powered.  If you're using them as truly portable (Thrown them in your bag and use them with no other power source) they'll be fine, but they don't have the flexibility that most portable speakers do of being able to plug them into the wall.  I'll be taking these back, because I'm not going to waste batteries on something that is a pretty stationary item for me.  I just don't have the space for a large speaker set where these are going.

When I picked these up at the store the sales person warned me to be careful with the flat panel area because that's where the sound in generated and it's relatively fragile and will mess up the sound if it gets damaged at all, so I might stay away from these if you're rough on your toys.  They do have small magnets to keep them together and protect that area during travel, but the magnets aren't terribly strong, so I wouldn't depend on them too much.
