The Innovage Super Bright White LED Lantern seemed like a good deal when I bought it. The lantern has some good features, a nice appearance, and was on sale for just $9.99. But after using the lantern for a while I'm not so thrilled with its performance.
On the bright side, the Innovage Super Bright White LED Lantern has twelve small LED lights imbedded in a tube in its globe. The light level is adjustable with a dimmer switch that is very easy to turn. The lowest light-levels are almost useless but the highest level provides a passable amount of light for a small area.
This camping lantern is about 9 inches tall, silver and black in color, and has a handle with a rubber grip on top. The four D cell batteries are imbedded in the base, which is easily removed for replacing them. There is a plug-in near the globe for an optional AC adapter so you can plug it into a standard 110 V. outlet. However, the adaptor plus is sold separately.
The Innovage Super Bright White LED Lantern promises up to 10,000 hours of operation. I have not used it anywhere near that long, so have no idea if the claim is valid. But the lantern's claim to provide ''Super Bright'' illumination is exaggerated. As stated earlier, this lantern provides only enough light for a small area like a tent, or perhaps a walk to the campground outhouse at night. You would have a hard time reading or doing any work by it.
My Innovage Super Bright White LED Lantern has a couple quality issues too. The handle detaches unless you lift it straight up. The prongs are not long enough to securely grip the prong holes. Another problem is that the light kept flickering until I fiddled around with the battery pack on the bottom. I ended up sticking some folded paper in the bottom of the battery pack so the elements made contact inside.
The verdict? The Innovage Super Bright White LED Lantern has some good points, but does not measure up to the battery operated camping lanterns from other manufactures. The illumination quantity is OK but nothing to brag about. The quality issues are another disappointment too. Oddly, the brand name does not appear on the lantern itself. Coincidence? Overall I can't recommend this camping lantern because of quality issues and only mediocre lighting capabilities.
