My cats have recently switched to a grain free diet so we've been testing out many, many different canned foods to replace their previous canned food. I was initially drawn to EVO because it is not only grain free, but it also lacks all the weirdo stuff like potatoes and blueberries that other canned foods have. EVO is 95% meat so it provides one of the highest concentrations of protein of any premium canned food. You can't get much higher than 95%. My cats adore the duck flavor. They will polish off an entire can. Usually I feed a three ounce can for breakfast and dinner, but this only comes in the 5.5 ounce size (and the even larger 13 ounce can that is about the size of a tall can of dog food) so I feed this only for dinner and they still polish off the entire can! So, this is a complete hit! They also really like the venison flavor. They are among very few brands that offer a venison option. I highly recommend this quality product from an excellent brand.

The only reason I'm not saying it's VERY GOOD is because canned food, even if it's the best, is still processed and canned. It's been heat treated. That makes it less than feeding raw. BUT, if you can't do raw, this is the next best thing. I used it as a transition food from kibble to raw when I was converting my cats years ago. I also keep it as a back-up food in my pantry for in case I can't feed my cats their normal diet. It has an excellent reputation. The ingredients are good. No by products. Minimal grains. It's one of the best choices on the market. Quality of Ingredients While I don't personally agree with all the ingredients they put in cat food, what they have chosen is a nice variety. Cats are obligate meat eaters. They really don't need grains, herbs, vegetables, etc. But most people can't feed a species appropriate diet, so this is the next best thing. I keep it around for any emergencies. I feel it will keep my cats healthy. Flavor Selection I've not seen a lot of flavor choices. I select the purple label product for cats, and I'm happy. My cats like it!

Evo 95 percent is an excellent wet food when a very high protein food is needed. It's a soft loaf that cats really like. Humans may not find the smell so appealing, but we don't have to eat it so that is a minor caveat. Quality of Ingredients The Evo 95 percent varieties have an excellent ingredients list. The 95 percent refers to the percent of high quality meat in the formulation. It also contains an impressive selection of vitamins, minerals and oils, and no grain so if you're looking for grain free you've found it. It does have carrageenan, but that's the only remotely objectionable ingredient in there. Flavor Selection The flavors include Venison (this one can be hard to find in stores), Beef (which looks and smells unappetizing to the human but the cat loves it), Duck, and Chicken and Turkey.

I 've used this brand with all of my cats. Some of them like it and some will just sniff it and walk away. Evo also makes a 95% meat canned food that is also grain free,low carb high protein. I t comes in four flavors so my cats never get bored with the same food. I emailed the company because I was concerned about the formula being changed due to the fact that Proctor and Gamble own it. Rest assured they are not going to change the formula at all and if they do they'll probably lose a lot of business. The ceo of the company is still the same so no changes here Hooray!!!!

Our cat had frequent urinary tract issues when we had him on a dry kibble food. Even the prescription food from the vet was a dry food and he still had some issues even on that. We decided to try this food since it was grain free and a canned food. Apparently moisture content makes a big difference when you have a cat with urinary tract problems. He hasn't had a problem with urinary crystals since we switched almost 5 years ago. Amazing when you know that when he was 2 we were already planning on him having a shortened lifespan due to blockages. It is hard to get cats to eat it initially since they're so accustomed to junk food which is what most grocery store foods are.
