I bought the Infusium shampoo because my hair was looking a bit worse for wear...kind of dull, a bit flyaway, dry, but not really needing a trim....Winter weather, heating season, hats, and dry indoor air had done its worst.   Reading bottles in the store, I felt that Infusium was just the ticket to vitamin fortify my "iron poor" hair...and I used it, and the hair felt more silky, and it wasn't as bad on static, and it actually started to develop a little shine to it after about a week of use...So I happily kept using it, and even bought a pump bottle of the leave in conditioner for heat styling.  The cost was moderate...about  $3.50 for almost a quart (always buy in bulk, economy size to save) and you didn't need a great deal to get a pretty good lather going....BUT, after about three weeks, my hair started looking really limp, and of course, first thing to stop was the leave in conditioner (perhaps I was going to the other extreme and becoming a grease monster), and it improved a bit, but still was pretty lackluster-still shiny clean, but no body at all which isn't a good thing with fine textured hair to begin with.  Anyway, a couple more weeks went by, and I had to start using Mousse and other products to pump up the volume.  At this point, I didn't feel as if the Infusium was really cleaning my hair or taking out the residue from the volumizing styling products (and isn't that the first reason we all shampoo?)  In fact, it felt as if the Infusium was compounding the problem of build up.  So, I discontinued it and even bought a deep cleansing, astringent type of shampoo to eliminate the accumulated over moisturizing and conditioning.   Thought I was home free until I went to have my hair professionally colored at the salon (a rare treat indeed)...$75 later, my hair looked no better, and perhaps a bit worse than my usual efforts with do-it-yourself, haircolors at home...the salon operator was not satisfied with the result, and she asked me what shampoo I was currently using...As I hadn't been using Infusium for awhile, and didn't immediately think to mention it.  But she then started asking if I had used any of certain products since last coloring my hair or last having a perm or any sort of chemical processing.   Thinking back, I remembered the Infusium products, and we had an "AHA" moment....it seems that the product literally coats the hair shaft with a pretty durable silicone-which is what leads to the anti-frizz and silky texture, and shine, shine, shine...and the build up keeps building upon itself the longer you use it....and it doesn't really wash away, and it prevents your hair from properly accepting color, perm, or other chemical services, because the hair shaft cannot absorb the chemicals in proper quantity.  So if you want to encase your hair in Lucite for posterity sake...Infusium is an inexpensive way to truly create helmet head....Wonder if you used enough, could you actually go without a safety helmet when bike riding????  Might be a new use for it.

3.50 a bottle??????? Where on earth are you finding Infusium 23 for that low a price?
It is 6.97 and up in any store I have ever purchased it and I have been using it for years.

that's exactly why i quite using it also. i found the same problem with the leave in conditioner. Right now I have the Tresemme, but am trading it off with a bath and body product. Seems to be taking care of many frizzes.
