Infusium 23 Leave-In Conditioner —

My hair has been just about every color under the sun. I went blonde a few years ago and now I've settled into a nice brown color. Because of the damage I do to my hair I am always seeking new hair products in hopes of finding some that do a good job minimizing split ends and flyaways. It was with this in mind that I picked up a bottle of Infusium 23 Original Leave-In Treatment for my hair at the grocery store.

About Infusium 23
Infusium makes a line of products for just about every hair type: Original, Moisturizing, Maximum Body, Color Treated/Permed Formula and they also make a line of special treatments. Each hair-type is marked with a different colored cap on the product. In addition to the leave-in treatment, Infusium 23 also makes shampoo and conditioner in an original formula.

Infusium claims that it's Leave-In Treatment repairs hair that's been damaged and restores it to a healthy texture and shine. They claim that this product not only restores damaged hair, but that it will also improve manageability and help you detangle wet hair. Their Leave-In Treatment also is supposed to work without leaving any residue on your hair.

Using Infusium 23 Original Leave-In Treatment
The 16 fl. oz. bottles available at my grocery store had screw on tops which dispensed a runny liquid. At the time that I bought the bottle I had no idea what the texture of the product would be like. I took a shower and got ready to work on my hair. I opened up the flip nozzle and poured the product into my hand. It immediately overflowed my hand because the product is so terribly runny. It's the consistency of water, and about as clear too.

I used the product like that the first day but the next day I took a spray nozzle we had from an empty bottle and screwed it onto the top of the bottle. I found that the product went onto my hair much easier with the spray nozzle so I've kept it for use with every bottle of Infusium 23 that I have purchased since.

How Well It Works
The product is very slippery and it coats the hair nicely. It does make my hair much easier to detangle when it is wet. It has a nice smell and I like the texture of my hair better after using it than when I don't use it. My hair has fewer flyaways and hangs better. The scent of the product is very minimal and very nice. It remains on my hair after I've dried it. It smells like a nice salon-style scent but isn't so strong as to be annoying. One problem I have noticed with this product is that in spite of the directions to use it as often as you like, you definitely must use it minimally in order for it to not coat your hair and leave it with a texture. I have overapplied this product before and it's left a bad texture in my hair afterward.

I have also noticed that whenever I use Infusium 23 Leave-In Treatment, it glides out and makes my hair very slippery the first few seconds of my next shower. It's definitely still in the hair when I go to rinse my hair because I can feel my hair sort of sliding together under the water from the treatment.

Cat's Bottom Line
Infusium 23 Leave-In Treatment is a great product that works well on my hair. I would recommend that if you can't find it in a spray bottle (I hear they've added a spray bottle to their lineup of products) that you get a spray nozzle for use on your regular bottle. I would also highly recommend that you be careful to not use too much on your hair in order to avoid having a residue left on it.
