I am currently using these speakers as my fronts and am very pleased with them, i have had them for a year and a half and have not found any flaws with them exept that they are not bassy, but my infinty ps8 sub makes up for that. They are built very solidly, all wood and aluminum. The sound quality is very clear and crisp, even when played at higher volumes. The tweeter is what really makes this speaker incredible, especially when watching movies. You hear tons of sound that no bose or yamaha speaker can offer, and you almost do not need a center because the dialog from the speaker is impecable.. u can hear every word. Although more expensive than a home theater in a box... these speakers are a must for any built it yourself system. I did not give this a 8 or 9 due to the lack of bass, and that there is better speakers on the market... u just have to pay alot more $$$... i bought mine for 50 dollars each at circuit city after rebates.

"Lack of bass"? In case you hadnt noticed there is a 5-1/4" woofer in this unit and its not capable of delivering
thundering bass...thats what we have subs for.No 5-1/4"
speaker is going to give you "earth-shaking bass!"
Man oh Man,get real
