I used a product similar to this with my oldest son. So, when my youngest starting riding in the front of the shopping cart, I knew I wanted a shop and play.

I found the Infantino Shop and Play Funny Farmer at Wal-Mart for a little over $20.  You lay it on top of the shopping cart and just form it to the seat, that easy. It's provides cushion, a barrier between your baby and shoppig carts full of germs, and it entertains your little one while you shop. It's just a small amount of money for your peace of mind for a while.

The shop and play can be used as soon as that baby carrier is too heavy to haul into the store! Of course your baby has to be able to support theirselves alone. My son is 17 months and I'm still using the Infantino Shop and Play.

It's too cute. There is a back cushion which is a green pea pod. There are a few toys on the front which is easily accessible to your little one. There is an apple that rattles. There is a small cloth book with a reflective page (so baby can see their self). A milk carton that crinkles when you press it. There's also a small maliable bowl that can be used for whatever you would like. I think it would become too messy if you put food in there. On the back there's a couple pockets which come in handy. I usually stick my cell phone and keys in there for easy access.

In addition to being a shopping cart cover you can use it as an activity mat for younger babies. So you can just use thing intead of purchasing both. It's like your getting two toys in one, saving you money.

All of the toys can be easily removed for washing. They just velcro on. All I did was stuck everything, including the toys, into the washer on gentle cycle then air dried. To take it with you, just roll it up and it velcros together. I definitely recommend this product. It was the cheapest one at the store. I don't think you need to spend a fortune on products that will do the same thing.

I had one similar to this for my kids back in the dark ages and my sister had one for hers as well. They are so cute and keep kids busy!

So cute! It's way cheaper than one I saw at babies R Us the other day on a friend's registry...that one was almost $40, and it didn't convert into a playmat. Great review!
