Most HelpfulMy husband and I went to go see Indiana Jones when it first came out and we really liked it. Harrison Ford seems age appropriate and it was really nice to see some of the original cast in the movie (although where were you Sean Connery?!) The storyline was also quintessential Indiana Jones too... with...

Most HelpfulI took my three boys to see this movie over the weekend. First let me just say, I demonstrated another lapse in parental judgment by bringing our four year old. Although he did not seem to mind, this movie was too graphic and violent for him.
That aside this latest edition of the Indiana Jones series...

"It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage." - Indiana Jones to Marion Ravenwood, Raiders of the Lost Ark
When the house lights came up while the end credits of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade rolled over a black background 19 years ago, nearly most of us present felt a sense of "This is it...this will be the end of the series. No more Indy movies."
After all, most of the portents were there: The movie ends with the Man in the Hat, his father, his colleague Marcus Brody, and his friend Sallah riding into the sunset...definitely not the most prominent movie...
God... it's hot out. Sitting inside a chilled movie theater sounded like a bit of heaven on a swealtering Virginia day, so off I went to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Really, it's an absurd title that promises the film will be about mindless action twaddle. The good news is that it delivers on that promise in spades.
As most of the world knows, Henry (Indiana) Jones is a famous archeologist who occasionally gets up to his neck and then some with field work. In this film (set in 1957), he is dogged by violent Soviet special forces types led by Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett),...
review »It has been almost 19 years since the last Indiana Jones film hit theaters, and though there was a television show chronicling the adventures of his youth, fans have been waiting a long time for this fourth theatrical release. Taking place in 1957, some time has passed, and to the credit of the story, they acknowledge it, but Indiana Jones is back in an action packed film that is sure to have you eating your entire large popcorn. For all intents and purposes, that is what this film is all about, giving fans a nostalgic look at one of the greatest characters in film, all while putting him on...
review »With the opening notes of "Hound Dog", the message is clear. This is a new era for Doctor Jones. welcome to the age of the Red Scare, the atomic bomb, rock 'n roll, and flying saucers. In fact, the movie delivers all of that in the first 15 minutes!
The plot follows a young biker-punk named Mutt Williams, who recruits Indiana Jones to rescue his mother and an old friend of Indy's from a group of Russian agents searching for the lost city of El Dorado in South America.
The usual stuff follows: Deathtraps, puzzles, swarms of creepy-crawlies, angry blowgun and bola-armed Indians, and lots and lots of...
review »I love Harrison Ford, and am a huge Indiana Jones fan. But this movie left me cold, and angry.
I am all for escapism, and I love a good yarn. For me the ending ruined the whole movie, it was simply horrible.
I was willing to go along for the ride, even accepting the bad GCI problems. I was also willing to endure the tortured plot line. But I almost had to walk out at the ending.
Once I got over my anger at the ending (I will not spoil it but it was horrible). I tried to decipher what made me so mad. I think it was just a cheep cheezy story line, that really had no where to go but down.
The...

I grew up an Indiana Jones fan and again watched the first three before I saw this movie. As a kid Indiana Jones encouraged fearlessness in suburbia and led to me attempting stupid things from diving under a garage door closing at the last second to jumping off a second story roof. These things led to some broken bones but overall I always felt that what was done in the first three movies was barely realistic. Each stunt could be done but required a correct alignment of the stars.
I really enjoyed this movie and in the spirit of...
review »An excellent continuation of the Indiana Jones series, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull picks up twennty years later with non-stop action! We follow our favorite leather jacket, whip carrying crusader on an adventure to find a missing colleague by tracing real well known artifacts, The Crystal Skulls. He bumps into a few old friends on the way and, together, they have another experience of a life time.
A well told story, that I can not devulge more of without giving away too much of the plot. You might want to wait for your little children to go to sleep before popping in the dvd because some...
review »I'm a big fan of Ford and Indiana Jones movies. Though the film had lots of action and eye candy, George Lucus needs to go back to writer's school. His dialogues were weak and boring. On top of that Speilberg seamed to let Ford do what he wanted with his character rather than direct him. I found Indiana Jones old and tired and not very convincing. Did Ford have the flu like he did in the other movie?? I felt Sean Connery did a better job playing an older Indiana Jones type than Ford.
I'm sure those who are too young to remember the excitement of the first Indiana Jones flics will...
