indeed.com - One-stop job shopping

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

When I was unemployed, I used to search multiple websites and newspapers each day. Then I found indeed.com. I was amazed at how complete the job listings were for my area.

indeed compiles all the latest employment opening data and posts it immediately to their website. You can search by job title, keywords or company name; and you can also search by city and state or zip. Your search results will give you a listing of jobs by position title and usually will include job requirements, city and sometimes salary information. The website also has information on job trends, salaries and a forum where employment seekers can exchange information or ask questions.

Sign up for their daily job listing e-mails and have all the local openings in your in-box when you check your e-mail each day.

I found indeed.com to be a real time-saver and a much more efficient way of looking for employment. If you're looking for a new position, I recommend indeed.com.

It's okay I guess

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I was never really that impressed with indeed.com. They provide job postings, but I've never gotten any emails from any jobs I've applied at indeed. They send you emails for local jobs which is nice, but you have to either scroll to the bottom of the email or go to the website to view the listings which is not very convenient. All in all I'd say they are not very impressive. Maybe I would be more inclined to be impressed with them if I worked more with them, but I'd much rather go through the top job sites like monster, careerbuilder, or hot jobs though there are some other impressive job sites out there, but I don't think Indeed is that great after all to be honest.

The Ultimate Job Search Website

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Whether you are unemployed, gainfully employed, or out just kicking tires....the seemingly endless Internet options for seeking out new career opportunities could be a bit overwhelming.

Recently, I discovered a search engine that has made my life a little bit easier.  Granted, I am using this tool for a slightly different purpose (market research and business development) I still believe that this website can be very helpful to both the casual and active job seeker.

The idea behind Indeed.com is simple -- "One Search. All jobs."  This tool allows you to plug in a quick search for, say, all Staff Accountant positions in Chicago, IL.  The search engine then pulls a...

Job Postings are repeated and lie about salary

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I love the the look of indeed. I love that you can pull up jobs in your area easily. I also love that you can choose a job by what salary the employers are offering.. But what I do not like is that most of the jobs repeat offers under various salaries so you cannot know for sure if they will pay you what they claim they will  pay you. On top of that I keep hearing the employers don't even answer back with success as much as they do on other sites, but of course I do not know that from personal experience so I cannot prove it. I think they should delete the repeated job postings and make sure all jobs post what salary they intend to give you on the site they are advertising from. I think...

Watch out for scam postings.

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

Unfortunately, Indeed circulates a lot of scam job postings which target the unemployed. In one scam, the job listing sends you to a 3rd party site (Job Fox) where you must register to view the job. You will get a "free" unsolicited resume review from Job Fox. They then offer to have a professional "fix" your resume for an outrageous sum. This is a terrible scam for the unemployed. Especially when there are free services available in the community. There are other scams (like postings for jobs that are already filled) to get you to register at other sites. I have contacted Indeed about this and got no response from them which proves that they don't care. I wish they would use their brain power to filter out these scams or have warnings for subscribers. Personally, all my job interviews have come from direct contact with recruiters and not from random online job applications that you link to from Indeed.

Depend on Indeed.com every day I work.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

As a career counselor I must look for new job leads everyday.  I have tried many employment websites and search engines, but Indeed.com is the one I have come to depend on.

It is user friendly making it easy to set up a job search by inputing key job related words along with a specific geographic location.  You decide if you want to recieve job lead emails daily or weekly.  You can create as many different job seaches as you need.   Every morning when I log on for work the first thing I do is open newest email from Indeed.com and start trying to match the open jobs with specific my clients.  Indeed.com will send me job leads from a...

Amazing job search engine site!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

One of my friends recommended me to use www.indeed.com and I truly love this site. Ever since i have used it, I have been recommending Indeed.com to all of my friends who are seeking for employment.  The site prevents me from missing a job opportunity that has been posted.  The site pulls job postings from many different sources and roll them up under one long listing. For example, job postings on company web sites, postings on other search engines Monster/Careerbuilder, recruiter websites, etc appear on indeed.com. The site is successful in covering many grounds, so I feel I don't need to hop from one search engine to the next everyday. I also love the layout of the site; it looks...

All local jobs in one place!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This website makes searching for jobs so much easier.  All you have to do is put in your zip code, and an optional search term.  Then hundreds of jobs pop up, all with dates of when recently posted.

Indeed is no longer a job aggregator. Job sites should not use.

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

Indeed basically grew on the backs or many job boards that fed them jobs to grow and now they are kicking job sites off left and right. Very disgraceful. They are no longer a job aggregator, but a regular old job site. They collect resumes now and they actively advertise for new job postings. No job site should be doing business with them anymore or sending them a feed. They are your competitor. You don't help your competitor. You compete.
