If you are an entrepreneur, ever wanted to be an entrepreneur, find lives of entrepreneurs interesting or, in general, wonder how entrepreneurs make it happen, Inc. Magazine is a fascinating magazine. If fact, if you are involved in business of any sort, generally follow human dynamics and live in a First World Country where starting a business is plausible, Inc. Magazine is for you. This is a wonderful magazine and I wish I knew of it when I was teaching Introduction to Marketing for the Visual Arts and Introduction to Management at Chicago's Columbia College because I would have for sure made it part of the reading list.
Inc. Magazine, the handbook of the American entrepreneur, covers all topics that pertain to starting a company, no matter how small and no matter how large. Since most of us have dreamed of starting our own gig at one time or another, even if it is tech consulting on the side or making pies on the weekends, this magazine can reach a lot of people. In addition to covering all the business topics ( e.g. how to get financing or marketing plans that took off), it also details the personal lives and stories of entrepreneurs. It is fascinating to read about small t-shirt companies that now make $80 billion a year, to learn about the years of growth ( or destruction some cases) and hear about the obstacles and bumps in the road that made their trip to the top on par with Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.
Because so much of business is linked to human nature, the magazine also covers topics such as keeping balance, being a good boss, general work conundrums and office politics. This is really a fun and informative read and highly recommend it to anyone in the business world and beyond.
