We haven't had to replace a garbage disposal for years, that is until recently. To be honest we had no idea of what kind to buy or how to judge one. I have to admit, I have a tendency to stick to brands that I know or recognize and I had never heard of this brand. A quick check on Viewpoints gave a limited number of reviews however buying this brand of disposal has proved to be a good decision. it is three-fourths of a horsepower and grinds quickly and quietly. We can continually add garbage without stopping to let it clear. I think the biggest plus is how quiet this disposal is and it seems to hold a lot more at a time. The unit is stainless steel and is built to last. One thing you might want to check before buying. If space under your kitchen sink is a issue you might want to verify that you have room enough for this unit. Yes, it is considered a compact unit, however it does take up a little more space under the counter than the old one.

We bought this garbage disposal when we did a remodel of our kitchen. We replaced the counters, sink, faucet and garbage disposal. At the time we still had builder grade products in our home. The garbage disposal was ridiculously loud. This one does a great job so far (we have had it for about a year and a half) and it is pretty quiet. You can hear it a little bit, however I am more comfortable being able to tell it is on, because I feel like it is safer that way. It is a little large, so make sure you have plenty of room under your sink. We have room for ours, but it did take up a little more of the storage space in the cabinet under my sink. We also purchased a deep kitchen sink and so that along with the larger garbage disposal takes up quite a bit of space. Just make sure you have enough room to get everything in back there. It is a little hard for my husband to access the faucet hook up behind this garbage disposal. That be said, I would highly recommend this product and am very glad that I purchased it.
