In my opinion, the J.D. Robb stories (...In Death) about Eve & hubby are at the Top of my list. I have only 2 authors I have more books from who previously were my favorites ( but only because they wrote more.. :) Eve is a very realistic character who is so entertaining that it wouldn't even matter if her husband was a bore....and THAT is definitely NOT true. He is charming, wealthy, smart, mysterious and sexy!! The stories are all set in the future while being believable and not sci-fiish...I hate Sci-fi.....about 50 years ahead with a glimpse into crime & drama as we can forsee it. Always engaging and never sappy. I guess that may describe for me the difference between Nora Roberts' books and J.D. Robb's books. Nora's are very entertaining but have the romance edge I avoid....uggghhh.....and J.D. Robb's are real, clever, edgy & have a slight hint of romance, but a definite law & order feel to it. A to both authors, but A+ to the whole (In Death) J.D. Robb series
