When I bought my boots last week I didn't like the padding that was in the boots and wanted something a little better for my feet. Having Fibromylagia means everything tends to get sore much quicker than normal people. Once your feet start to hurt you may as well sit down because it only gets worse and it happens very quick.

Impulse Footcare Gel Insole

These are made from the same material as those other fancy insoles you see in the stores. A 1/4" thick layer of soft gel covered by a liner and are made in many sizes. I however had to trim mine down to fit in my boots. This was an easy task as they have marked the insoles with the other sizes that they are made for.

Cutting them was pretty easy but my scissors caused the soft material to bunch up a bit. I finally got them cut and they fit real good inside my boot. My boots were a tad big and these helped to make them fit much better and walking with them in makes a big difference.

These are washable and then you just let them air dry before putting them back in your shoes. The material covering the Gel is made to let your feet breathe and stay comfortable. My feet tend to sweat a lot but with thick cotton socks and these in my boots I was good to go all day long. I worked it the yard and then went for a ride and at the end of the day they were still good to go and my feet didn't hurt.

Bottom Line

I did try those Dr. Scholl's Gel pads while I was at the store but they were so thick they mashed my feet up into the boot and were very uncomfortable. Pricey doesn't always mean they are better! They were about twice as thick as these and while they may be thicker and more costly they just would not work for me. These were also 1/2 the price for what they wanted for the Dr. Scholl's brand. These were only $5 so if they wear out it won't be a big loss but they feel just as good as the more expensive ones.

Yeah they made my boots fit better but they are not as thick as the Dr. Scholl's ;)

I JUST bought these because a new pair of shoes are too big and comfortable for me. They are great but you are right. Very thick.

Glad to hear you like these. I have been looking for some good ones, and I agree on the Dr. Scholl's brand, they are too thick, then my shoes are too tight. Actually, I have had that with several brands. Here's to happy feet!

Will do, so far I have had them for a week but my feet feel pretty good even after a 40 or 50 mile ride. Hey at just under $6 they are pretty good. ;)

You ride that bike much and you'll be wanting Dr Scholls for your behind. ;>

Let me know if these hold up! I never can find a good insert that I like for more than a few days. I also have Fibro...it sucks!
