Imperial Majesty - Royal Empress Review Summary

If you’re thinking about booking a cruise on the Imperial Majesty Royal Empress, you may want to think twice, Viewpoints reviewers were not impressed. If you want a cheap cruise one reviewer says “we paid about $400 for our cruise.” Not too shabby, but that’s where the fun stops. Broken door locks, bathroom doors that jammed and cockroaches “the size of a mouse” were just a few problems our reviewers were confronted with. Be warned, if you sail the Royal Empress your vacation may be sunk! Not to worry we have a lot more cruise line reviews. Take a look!

MY HUSBAND AND I LOVED THE CRUISE. WE WENT TO AN EXOTIC ISLAND WHERE THE SERVED YOU DRINKS ON THE BEACH. THEY HAD BUFFET LUNCH RIGHT ON THE ISLAND. HAD ALL KINDS OF SHOPS. THE BOAT WAS BEAUTIFUL. WE HARDLY STAYED IN OUR ROOM. THERE IS ENTERTAINMENT AND SHOPS RIGHT ON THE BOAT. IT WAS UNBELIEVEABLE.

Do not take a cruise on the Imperial Majesty cruise ship named Royal Empress.  It is 53 years old and looks every bit of those years.  Upon arriving in our room, I went to the bathroom only to be greeted by a cockroach the size of a mouse.  As I was exiting the bathroom, another cockroach was waiting...

We experienced the Regal Empress as part of a travel package from Imperial Cruise Lines.  First of all, you had to a special "center" to get your vouchers.  They then tell you that you have to go to a 2 hour "tour", which is really a condo selling scheme that lasted 5 hours instead of 2 and they only gave us one voucher, for the cruise, and they never even asked for it at the ship!  When I was called about this package, they never mentioned a condo selling tour!  The "free" breakfast, lunches, and dinners are ok, at best, the food at one of the Ramada's was really poor.  The bar had great... read full review »

I was to sail to the Bahamas on the "Regal Empress" on June 27, 2008 but it never happened. I was looking for something affordable that our family of five could enjoy and I came across the Imperial Majesty. ...Oh I wish I had never found it... There was nothing majestic about this ship. The entire cabin was nasty and smelled like mildew. The bathroom looked like something right out of a dirty cheap motel. I could not picture my kids using this bathroom let alone sleeping in this room. We stayed long enough to try the buffet lunch and I was not impressed. The food was cold and most of it did...

We paid about $400 for our cruise. When we got there we couldn't get into the room because the lock on the door was broken. After waiting a long time for someone to come, they told us to "jiggle it a little and hold the key to the left while turning it" Only my husband could get it jiggled just right so I couldn't come and go as I wanted. Inside the room, we had twin beds. Enough said. The light in the bathroom was broken and it was a problem most after the door to the bathroom broke. I couldn't get out one morning. They came and rescued me and we had to stand out of the cabin waiting while they... read full review »

The service was wonderful. The food was good. Again the employees were very kind and informative. The cleanliness was overlooked. For the most part, it was clean, however, there was lots of dust in areas that are commonly overlooked. As I said, though, the employees were wonderful.

We booked our complementry cruise after purchasing a vacation package.  I myself

did not feel like going back to Nassau, I find the people not too friendly and very

pushy.  But my wife insisted we take the free cruise.  First there are the port fees of

$118.00, then the upgrade from twin beds to a cabin with a window and a double bed

was $99.00.  We got a window but wound up with twin beds and the cruise line

would not upgrade because we booked through Ramada Plaza Resorts.  Then the

cost of having to drive ourselves instead of being able to take a bus was $80.00 for

gas and $30.00 for parking. ...

This was not a good cruise at all.  My husband booked it, and I should have known it would not be the great since I had never heard of the cruise line.  The food was not that great, the entertainment sucked and the bathroom in the room was disgusting.  It was my first time on a cruise, and I learned then that cruises are one of those things where you should not be cheap.  Go for quality!

We enjoyed ourselves, my friend is an engineer so of course he enjoyed it...a little small but cozy.  Food was good, crew was great.  Way too quick of a cruise, but still enjoyable.  The people on ship was a great crowd, not allot of drunks

For someone like myself who never been on a cruise.  How would you explain to me how your experince was on a cruise for the first time? I have a cruise that is already paid for and a hotel that is also paid for just havent took the cruise yet mainly because of the bad weather and season of hurricanes was going on. Now that all that is over I am so ready to take my cruise. Someone fill me in on the cruise scenery before i go. Every little idea counts so that i can have a idea of what i am looking to get into on a cruise.

I was literally sick from the smell of bathrooms and stale smoke.  The company organizing the trip gave wrong information.  The rooms were not conducive to a romantic getaway. The food for breakfast and lunch was mediocre.
