Every year my first pick is impatients. They are so colorful and easy to grow. You don't have to dead head the old flowers and they just keep blooming. I love the way they fill in space in a flower bed or how they overflow in hanging baskets Iven if you forget to water, and they are drooping they usually come back pretty fast. The only negative, is that one frost and forget it, they become mushy and will not recover. So don't plant too early and if you want them to last longer in the fall, cover or bring them in if there is an early frost.
