The Bottom Line: This works! Especially on a cruise ship with 3000 other sick folks. I am SO glad I purchased it for my emergency kit. Works in 4 hours.
WOW! 14 nights on a Trans canal cruise & the Norovirus struck big time! We thought we were washing hands & staying clear of the sick folks, but when it hit it was horrible & people are locked in staterooms for 4 nights. With a cruise ship bathroom, shower 2'X 5', a sink that is a foot large & a toilet that has the smallest hole known to man & is pressure assisted to flush, when there is pressure. So 2 sick folks with diarrhea & vomiting made for a fun attempt at being human. But we survived within 4 hours!
Before we left I packed an emergency kit with bandages, Neosporin, Advil's small bottle, and box of Immodium AD. Within 4 hours we just shut off! Took a good 24 hours until we were fairly back to normal, but that is one great cork that plugged it up for us. We did keep taking the pill every morning, but even the flight home we were safe.
Great to goto Dinner that night & 4 other folks were there instead of 1500, so that is one violent illness that takes only one sick person to contaminate a whole ship including crew. Even the entertainers were canceled due to illness.
We learned some very interesting facts. It is a VIRUS so antibiotics do not work, so the hand lotion from Purell & others that is antibiotic doesn't work on Nirovirus aka Norwalk Virus. Just hot water & plenty of soap washing as you sing Happy Birthday to your self & a second round as you rinse. Then us a paper towel for door handle when going to dinner. We felt like Monk!
Thank you to whomever invented Immodium AD! We had a great cruise on Radiance of the Seas.
