I'm Ready For My Movie Contract: A Get Fuzzy Collection —
Get Fuzzy: I'm Ready For My Movie Contract is not the first of Darby Conley's books, but it sure is one of my favorites. Bucky and Satchel once again show just how much trouble and mayhem they can get themselves into; oftentimes resulting in a poor situation for their "owner" Rob.I will not go into specifics on the assortment of "mini-plotlines" in this volume of Get Fuzzy, but I will graze over the involvement of a quack-doctor, beavers, Bucky voo-doo dolls, and a potential brawl between Bucky and "the ferret next door."
The artwork properly accentuates the emotions that each of the characters is going through in every panel, and is of a "detailed, but not so detailed that it feels as if the lines are scratching my eyes" type.
Sadly, Get Fuzzy is not nearly as well known as other such comics as the "Far Side", "Foxtrot", and "Calvin and Hobbes".
I hope that those who view this review will maybe check their local newspaper, or browse in a bookstore and chuckle at the pet-owner relations that are "Get Fuzzy."
