I bought this for the kids as something to keep them busy and spark there artistic ability. They loved to use it but they quickly grew too big for it. This item is not adjustable so once you grow out of it thats it. We ended up taking the board off and using it still. The kids use it to keep lists like things they want to buy or things like that. Some positives would be that it is light weight and portable, it can be folded up and slid under a bed or in a closet with ease. Its easy to clean and even without the proper eraser a wet paper towel would do the job and not leave residue or residual ink there like some boards if you don't clean them often. When this item came out it was ridiculously priced but I do believe the price has dropped significantly. I would recommend this product for families as a great way to get kids to be more artistic, organized and away from there phone or tv.

We all love this! While visiting family in Ohio for Christmas I wanted to goto IKEA since we don't have one locally. My 2 1/2 year old loves to color, draw and doodle. When we saw the easel we decided it was a great price for all we were getting. We got a huge chalkboard on one side and a dry erase board on the other side. Also as an accentive we got the little attached wooden basket for the chalk pieces. So we bought it along with the spooled paper that fits directly jnthe middle of the assembly and goes up through the easel. Since we've been back she has colored, drawn and written a bunch. It even appeals to teenagers.

After looking for an easel for our two year old we finally came across the Ikea version. It is a great little easel for the price. We could not believe how much the name brands were going for that did everything this one did. We have had it up for some time now and our child is in love with it. It has endured many children playing on it, it holds the rolls of paper, has a dish for the art supplies. It does everything you could possibly need an easel to do for a fraction of the price!

I lolve Ikea because they have nice looking items for cheap. The Ikea mala easel is a perfect example of a quality item for a cheap price. Near the food court at my local ikea is the Children's section. it is in this section that i first saw the Ikea mala easel. as soon as i saw it i knew it would be a great fit for my children's room. it is a nice sized easel that is taller than them but it's low enough for them to doodle on the ikea easel without a problem. the materials seem good and sturdy and i have no issues with sharp edges or anything that can hurt my kids. the easel has two different sides for your kids so that two separate kids can use it at once. one side is a chalkboard while the other side is not. there is a nice holder at the bottom that allows markers or crayons to be placed. The nice thing about the ikea mala easel is that it can fold when not in use and be put away. but there's a good chance that with the quality of this ikea easel that you wont need to put it away as your kids will want to play with it.

I work as an artist and needed a solution for my little girl who just wanted to do everything I was doing.  I bought her the IKEA easel for Christmas when she was 2.  She loved it then and still loves it now.  Now I have two children that play with it.  It is great first of all because it is super affordable.  Even the replacement paper is cheap.  The paper rolls are very large (in fact it has been over a year and I still have not had to buy a replacement.) I love the fact that it can be a chalkboard, whiteboard or used for drawing on the paper.  The shelf for the crayons is handy and sturdy.  I am generally not a fan of IKEA quality, but the shelf has been sat on a few times and still has yet to crack.    It is also nice that it is slim and thus can fit anywhere easily.  It is hard for a child to pull the paper down through the slot, so busy little drawers will need a willing assistant. I would buy this again.

This item was given as a gift to my son at his second birthday. He loves it. There is one side that has a chalkboard and the other side has a white board. There is also a spot for a roll of paper that comes up through the middle and comes down one side. This three in one easel is amazing for my my son but has also been a great thing for adults! My friends and I have used this easel to play pictionary. My son plays with this everyday. The chalkboard and white board are both very large so there is lots of space for cooring and drawing. It also has a nice tray at the bottom to hold all supplies. It is nice to have a freestanding chalk board that is the perfect height for my son. I have had great experiences with IKEA products and this product is equally amazing. This product is also an amazing price in comparison to other similar easels. IKEA also offers more rolls of paper and a coloring set of chalk, paint and crayons. One stop shop!
