Banking has come a long way since the days when financial transactions were conducted entirely one- on- one with a bank teller or loan officer. These traditional banks, of course, still exist but many consumers now opt to conduct banking via the internet. Most all major banks have an online presence, but there are also a few banks that conduct business exclusively online. I have had an ING savings account for a couple years now, and recently opened up an ING checking account. Both accounts have good interest rates, and I love the bill payment feature with the checking account.
Also, you can refer new members and receive a referral bonus. If you refer a customer who opens and funds a savings account (minimum required), the new customer receives $25 and you receive $10.

review »We have had an ING Direct account since 2005. We have been impressed with the interest rate and the ease of doing business with an internet only company. One who is used to dealing with a brick and mortar bank, I was a little hesitant when I first signed up and only deposited the minimum. After handling a few transactions and seeing the interest piling up in my account, I started switching all of our savings accounts to ING. While it does take a few days to transfer money from the ING account to another bank, roughly 3 business days, I have not had the need to access the money any faster...
