IMDB Review

When I was watching the new season of Beauty and the Geek, I couldn't help but notice the Male Beauty looked extremely familiar!  Who was he?  He wasn't just a random, that guy was an actor.  I headed off to my favorite site for everything movies and tv - IMDB.com and did a search for the TV show.  Unfortunately the Male Beauty was not listed in the cast :-O  Luckily all I had to do was scroll to the very bottom area of the page to see the message board.  Yes, every single show, movie, actor, etc has a message board, and of course there were other people talking about it.  Through their messages I learned that he was an actor from the Disney movie Brink.  Everything was all cleared up.

The message boards are usually not the reason I visit this site however.  Here are some general scenarios for why we visit.

1. What movie was that guy in?
   If we are watching a movie, my husband and I can easily lose our train of thought when we see someone familiar but cannot pinpoint where we've seen him before.  This website is the source for this information.  Look up any movie or show and see a list of the cast and crew.  Click a cast member to see any other shows or movies they were in.  This is where you can get stuck in the site clicking around as it is so easy just to go from an actor, to a movie, to another actor, to a TV show, to a director, etc etc.
    
2. Who was she married too? and how old is he anyway?
   Yes we are very curious people!  My family and I are often wondering how old certain actors are and this website helps because all the known facts about a person are listed including birth dates, death dates, marriages, kids, etc.  Sometimes I can't believe how old an actress is because she looks so good still!  I wouldn't believe it if it wasn't on this site :)
    
3. What do you want to see tonight?
   Another good reason to visit is to find movies to watch.  I use the My Movies feature to bookmark movies I haven't seen yet so that I can remember them, or I just browse through the newest releases to see if there's one I want to go see.  Often I see advertisements but I forget the name of the movie.  With this site as long as I remember an actor in it, or what it's about, I can search for it and find it.
    
4. Trivia anyone?
   Finally, we are addicted to movie and tv trivia!  I love reading the trivia for movies such as things that went wrong during the shoot or how much it cost to film that scene.  You can even find out what awards the movie was nominated for and won.  My husband loves to learn trivia because he seems to want to know all there is to know about movies.  I am just curious and find it interesting to learn all these random facts.

There are millions of reasons to visit IMDB.com, I have only listed a few.  I often cannot believe that this site is completely free!  Check it out next time you are wondering who that guy was in that movie with that girl.  It also helps a lot when you write movie reviews!!   Enjoy :)
