Great back supporter!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My husband had been having a very hard time sleeping and had bad back problems for a while.  We finally decided to see if it was our mattress after he spent tons of time sleeping on the floor.  Our previous mattress was a pillowtop that did not hold up to its lifetime like it was supposed to.  It sagged in the center and it was visual sagging!  So we knew we better find a new mattress.  We went to several places for a foam mattress but they are super expensive.  Then we went to IKEA and purchased their Sultan firm foam mattress.  The price was awesome and it felt great in the store.  We brought it home, unrolled it and slept on it the first night.&nbsp...

It does the job for the price. Very Comfortable. Only downside is getting up from such a low position, but a platform (bought separately) would fix that.

Way better than an air mattress or sofabed.

Can be rolled up for storage.

nice foam mattress

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

When we were redecorating our home, we decided to equip the guest room. with mainly IKEA products from a nearby store. The reason why we went with this decision is because our other areas of her home acquired higher priority and took over large amount of our disposable income at the time. Because we rarely have just now it was decided on that we would use IKEA products for this particular room. This room we chose the IKEA Sultan foam mattress and once in a while when one of us sleep in his room we are always able to have a good nights rest without any complaints or any issues. It is a very good foam mattress and there is really nothing I can find that I can talk negatively about. The price was right the quality was right and the size was perfect for the room that it went into. I recommend laying down on one in the store to see what it is like.

firm and lasting

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This mattress is, like all IKEA items, very affordable. I bought it in a full size for my bed about a year ago, and it has held up very well. The foam doesn't depress and it supports my back well. As a back sleeper, I need a firmer mattress, and this mattress works well for that purpose. It came rolled up, and was very easy to transport and lug up my the floors of my apartment (there's no elevator). After unrolling it, it spruced up very nicely, and hasn't lost its shape since then. I rotate and flip it once every few months, and there hasn't been any noticeable wear in any particular spot. The lady who sold to me also told me that it can be rolled up and re-tied for the next time I move, making it a great buy because it was affordable and transportable. Box spring mattresses can be much harder to move from place to place. The mattress is also not very high, and looks neat in my modern style bedroom.

Good for what it is.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

My foam mattress is good for what it is. Doesn't need a box spring, doesn't need a mattress pad, and is comfortable for nightly sleep. Sleeping on a foam mattress is exceptionally different than a spring mattress, and takes a little bit of getting used to.  Ikea recommends letting your mattress fully "puff up" before sleeping on it, and I agree- it needs a day to regain its shape. Great that you can buy a mattress and move it home in whatever you drove to Ikea, but not so great if you need to move your bed from one room to another. Since the bed is a big cushion, it is difficult to get a grip on it to move it, pick it up, or flip it (even with the handles) especially by yourself. A great price, a great value, and a good night's sleep.

Ikea Sultan Foam Mattress--very comfortable and affordable!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have owned my Ikea queen sized mattress for almost a year now, and I love it,  it is about 4 - 5" thick.   You would think that you were sleeping on a 17" mattress.  I feel like i am sleeping on a cloud. It comes with a cover over the foam that zips all the way around, and it is machine washable which is the nicest feature making it very easy to keep clean.  Ikea also backs it's mattresses with a twenty five year warranty and a ninety day guarantee in which you can return the mattress if you are dissatisfied.  The back support is also great, and the price was only $250 for a Queen size--very affordable I believe the starting prices for their mattresses are only $99. And, the best thing is getting it home was so easy, the mattress comes rolled, flat packed.  It fit right in the back seat of my car and did not have to worry about paying any shipping or delivery fees.  It did take about three days until the mattress was ready because of it being flat packed.

sleep tight- value for the price

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

After purchasing my house I need some new furniture and fast, so I turned to IKEA, like so many others, for affordable albeit less than heirloom quality furnishings.  I orginally bought my IKEA mattress for the guest bed upstairs, but quickly found it more comfortable than my three year old traditional boxspring and coiled mattress so I switched them out.  A year and a half later I have no complaints.  I like not having to have a boxspring.  The display at the store was helpful for identifying which mattresses are better for back sleepers or side sleepers.  I also like that a pillowtop can be added without practically needing steps to reach the bed.  The best th...

no longer a dip in the middle!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

For many years in my family, it always seemed mom or dad got a new mattress, and i get the old one.  For the past several years i have been disabled and live on disability.  I could not afford to purchase a new mattress which would definitely help my back and hips.  This past winter my mother offered to help me purchase a brand new mattress and i could repay her with my renters credit. We looked at several different mattresses at several different stores.  I looked at this particular foam mattress at ikea three times, before i decided to purchase it.  I had never had a foam mattress, and no one i talked to had ever had one, so I was a little bit apprehensive.  My father and I picked it up, over the next week, and put it together rather easily.  I find the bed very comfy.  I still plan on flipping it like I would a normal spring mattress.  And I like the idea of no box spring either. The thing I like the most, is there's no longer a dip in the middle!

Ikea Sultan Foam Mattress - Zzzzzz

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I have to admit, writing this review made me almost fall asleep, not because this mattress was bad in any way, it just made me love it even more. If there is anything I am good at, it is sleeping. And I am awesome at it. Being the budget conscious person I am, this mattress was perfect for my needs. I am a poor, starving college student so this did not really hurt my wallet at all. I did think it was weird that it was in a bag at first, but it finally made sense when I cut open the bag and it expanded. After it was all settled I decided to test it out and it was not bad at all. It was better than my box-spring mattress and all and all it was good enough for me. I sleep like a baby every night, minus the whole wearing diapers and being incontinent. No cons, it just does its job. You can add an additional topper if you want, but to be honest it's good enough as it is for me. Bottomline, if you have a tight budget and you're tired of your old mattress, go for this.

It's a nice mattress but nothing special.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I love that we don't need box springs with this mattress but it's nothing special. It's comfortable but could be more so. It does seem like a very well made mattress though. I also like that it is foam and there are no springs to every stick in your back and make you uncomfortable and there's really no need to turn the mattress either.
