Ikea definitely has some great prices, but you have to be carefuly because sometimes quality is compromised.  This is not the case with the IKEA Poang chairs.   I have 2 IKEA Poang chairs in my living room, and though they were relatively inexpensive, they are very comfortable.  Plus, they are super-easy to assemble.

I like them because they have a modern look and also they are not heavy and stuffy like some upholstered chairs are.  The slight bounce to them makes them very comforting like a rocking chair.

We needed seating when we moved into our new home over a year ago, and having just purchased the house, finances were a bit tight.  So we trekked down to our "local" IKEA, which is fortunately only about 40 minutes away, and picked up two IKEA POANG chairs and matching footstools.  They were packaged in boxes that weighed very little...I was actually able to lift them by myself.  We fit two boxes, all the cushions, and the footstool boxes into our little Ford Escort!

At IKEA, everything comes separately, so you can mix and match the colors or the chair frames with fabric options for the...

We got our Poang chair when it was on sale for $39 instead of $49. It does not come with the ottoman, that is priced separately.

Relatively easy to assemble if you're used to Ikea assembly instructions (no words, just pictures and an often confused stick figure). Nice and sturdy. Smooth rocking motion. Now I wish we'd gotten the ottoman when it was on sale, too, because it would be nice to have something to put our feet on.

The cushion keeps from sliding down the chair via velcro on the back of the seat bed (?). The cushion we got is black. It also comes in off white, like all other Ikea fabrics...

I love IKEA. They have some nice stuff and as long as you are willing to put it together, most of it is worth it. I bought a Poang chair because I really like the way they look and feel. I was lucky and got the chair itself in the 'as-is' part, but had to buy the cusion. Now I bought the vinyl cushion ( as my boyfriend tends to spill things, so fabic is not good for us) and it was  abit expensive, but worth the money. It is very comfortable to sit it, light to move around and you can change the cusion to match different decor. Plus, unlike some of IKEA's things, it was relatively painless to put...
