IKEA Leksvik Bookcase —

When most people think of IKEA they think of cheap particleboard and white laminate, or more generously, an intensely overcrowded warehouse where they serve Swedish meatballs.  Fortunately, times have changed.  IKEA now offers a series of sturdy flat packed solid pine furniture in a medium brown with ash (rather than honey) undertones.  Assembly takes a bit of time, but is intuitive.  The furniture itself will blend well with non-IKEA furniture that is medium shaded brown, either traditional, country, or neo-traditional.  It has a bit of the modern aesthetic that you'd expect from IKEA, while still feeling classic and homey.  Better still, Leksvik is a huge range with every conceivable sort of furniture in it.

Regarding the bookcases in particular, they are wide, stable, and open baked.  They are designed with safety in mind, specifically with two pre-drilled holes for fixing them to the wall on the top back bookstop slat (the upright horizontal slat that prevents items on the shelf from falling out the back in an open backed design).
