I do not know why anyone would go to a furniture store and purchase an expensive TV stand when they can just go to IKEA and pick up a very well-balanced very high quality piece for a reasonable non-premium price. When I bought my 40 inch flatscreen television I looked into and researched different television units. Also prize and appalled that there were so many TV units that were out of my price range. The truth of the matter is that many of these television units are way way overpriced. Of happy to know that IKEA stocks up on television unit stations. I picked up the linnarp television unit and I am really pleased with the overall feel and build of this unit. I television sits comfortably on the linnarp and the television box which feeds into the television inputs is stored in the Linnarp as well. It is a very good piece.

My entire house is furnished in neutral colors with the occasional accent of pale and navy blue.  Basically, the place is decorated like a beach bungalow with photos and paintings of waves, dunes, seagulls, etc.  When the time came to buy furniture for our newly-finished basement, I told my husband to have fun at IKEA picking something out.  It was his "Man Cave" and he could do whatever he wanted.  He's a good egg, though, so he came home with a fairly simple and low-profile *TV Stand* in a natural wood finish.  Good choice! What he brought home was the *IKEA LINNARP TV Unit* which is a wide but low stand that is large enough to fit at least a 58" plasma television.  It has two storage shelves broken up into three sections that are closed up by two sliding glass doors with wooden frames.  It is available in different finishes, but my husband wisely chose the natural wood finish as that is what we have in the rest of the house.  It took my handy husband less than an hour to assemble this *IKEA Linnarp TV Stand*by himself and I didn't hear a single curse word uttered during that time, so I assume it was fairly easy to do.  We easily fit the sound system receiver, the Blu-Ray player, the cable/DVR box, the Wii, and our modest collection of movies and video games in the shelf sections.  We first bought this unit to hold a 50 inch plasma TV down in the basement, but eventually my husband replaced it with a 58 inch and moved the 50 inch upstairs to the front room.  We were so happy with our *IKEA TV Stand* that we bought the exact same unit to hold the TV upstairs as well.  If that isn't an endorsement of this entertainment unit, I don't know what is.  Recommended!
