Most HelpfulI used a thinkpad t40 constantly for work for 4 years and had no problems. After 3 years battery life started going downhill, but that happens with all batteries. I took this laptop everywhere and it never broke, so it's pretty durable, especially for being so thin (another great quality). I also had water fall on it, and it was able to come back to life shortly after.
The IBM Thinkpad is a great laptop. I like the fact that is is loaded with Windows XP and he has never had any problems with it. It performs just like you would hope when you make a major investment such as a laptop! The laptop is very fast, has a nice screen and is very portable. It has plenty of ports for adding components and also displays pictures nicely on the screen.
Bought this computer refurbished and I love it. Fast. Reliable. Would buy all over again.
I have worked on just about every laptop ever made, and there is no beating the IBM Thinkpad. First, it has the patented trackpoint, which I think is a million times easier to use than all the other mouse options with other laptops. It's a serious laptop, not a fancy pretty machine meant to look cool sitting on a desk. It doesn't come in pink, but it is really not targeting that market I don't think. My current thinkpad is over 5 years old and still runs beautifully. I have upgraded the memory once from what was 512Mb to believe it or not but still a measely 750Mb. It doesn't even...

I enjoy my IBM ThinkPad Laptop mostly because of it's reliability. I have never had a problem with it - sometimes my Internet provider, but the laptop is sturdy and a good size for convenience.
It can play movies when traveling, pick up almost every wireless network (with the card that I added) while traveling. I can use it in my living room while watching sports and wanting to know what else is going on as well as for checking my email just about anywhere there is a signal.
It has a feature where I can turn up the light on the screen to make it easier to read in the dark. It is a compact...

It connects to the internet fast and easily, manages multiple windows simultaneously, and handles games and graphics programs well. It has two USB ports on the side, and I use one to plug in my cooling fan that sits underneath and the other USB connects my USB hub for plugging in iPods, cell phones, mouse, etc. The screen is very nice and shows colors vividly and brilliantly. I also am pleased with the sound capability...
read full review »The ThinkPad is very convenient in size for kids in high school. I have plenty of room on my hard drive. A excellent keyboard for typing. I have not had any problems with compatibility. My system does keep a low battery when not plugged into a power source. It is black which is plain and boring it does not have any designs. My ThinkPad is reliable im using it now for my reviews. If you plan on buying one i believe it is best to do some intensive research before making your decision. Research the most computerss youcan and you will find one to suit your specific needs. Make sure you have everything...
read full review »The IBM Thinkpad is an "oldie but goody" I would say. I had never had a laptop until I received this one from my fiancee. I am currently running Windows Xp on it and having no problems whatsoever. I like this laptop because for some of the features, ie: the trackball, decent sized screen and ability to run programs without a problem. The IBM band seems to be distancing itself from the leaders of the laptop pack but I would definately purchase another IBM if I had to. The casing is durable as I've accidentally dropped it from short distances off the floor multiple times by accident and its still...

But now it comes naturally and I do not look forward to using my computer at work. The keypad is easy for the touch. I highly recommend the IBM ThinkPad for any user who likes the portability of having a wireless computer that you can use in any room of the house. The battery life seems to work in our household. My grandchildren have downloaded a lot of music and we still have room to spare.
This laptop has pretty much replaced my desktop computer. I was needing to purchase a new computer as mine was old, so I decided to get a laptop for myself and keep the old desktop with just the basics for my daughter to use for school. I have not regretted it.
The speed is good. I use it for managing my finances, accessing my email, and writing my book.
The only drawback has been the battery. I only have about an hour of power without plugging up, but the computer has definitely been worth it.
