We have been feeding IAMS to our Bullmastiff since we got him at 5 weeks old. He is now 3 years old & just loves the food. We have never had any problems with him on this food & we even switched our cats to the IAMS dry cat food. They seem to be very reasonable with the other brands on the market.... review »

cheap, everywhere and not worth it

I do not feed my labs Iams. I did at one time. But, after the dog food recalls, I changed to Innova dog food. See my review. Iams had some wet dog food involved in the recall. Go ahead and spend a few more dollars than Iams and get human grade dog food. Your dogs will thank you!

IAMS is the best dog food for large breed dogs

very attached to my dog, one who spoils her dog, have a great veterinarian, Dog Owner, willing to pay more for quality, willing to pay for quality, dog lover, a dog owner

I am the proud owner of an Akita and a St Bernard. Since both of my babies were puppies I have fed them IAMS latge breed chunks. Their health has benefited from it. The quality of the food is always good and I have never had a problem. I have recomended this to several friends and they have stuck with the food as well. Now after the pet food recalls I can safely say unless there was ever a problem (which I highly doubt) I would never change food. You get what you pay for....

Decent dog food

selective about pet food, willing to pay for quality, very attached to my dog, a dog owner, a pet owner, an animal lover, dog lover, have a great veterinarian

I have used this food for years for a variety of reasons. 1) its cost effective 2) readily available 3) produces good coats 4) few problems with allergies or other health issues. There are better quality foods out there, but if you are feeding many dogs, you need to balance the cost as well. This does an excellent job of being economical while producing the desired results.

My dog loves this food

I'm the proud owner of a Cane Corso who's been on Iams Large Breed for a few months. I previously had him on Nutro Ultra, but it made him gassy and he had very runny stools. I switched to Eukanuba Naturally Wild and he never seemed to get full off of it. The Iams is perfect for him, he cleans his bowl every time and eats with enthusiasm. He's in top shape and has a healthy, shiny coat. I know a lot of dog people look down on Iams, but I think it's great food and will continue to feed it to my dog. I don't think you need to pay sixty dollars for a thirty pound bag of food for it to be considered...

Since our 2 Pitbulls, Dae-Dae and Smokie Joe, were pups we've been feeding them Iams. Now that they are 4 1/2 years old, it only makes sense to give them something that they love. We have tried a few others once or twice in emergency situations but after the inital feeding they don't want it anymore so we ended up throwing the others away. Iams is the only food they consistantly like and eat. As a result, their teeth, coats, energy levels are the best they can be. Every visit with the vet is a constant rave about how well they are doing and look. I wouldn't feed my pets anything else.

Iams large breed it a GOOD product. I have a golden and he is very sensitive to a lot of different foods. He was very over weight and we were having a hard time finding a dog food that would work. Well IAMS was the winner. he lost 20 pounds in about a years time and is healthier and happier.
