IAMS Healthy Naturals Dry Dog Food (7-lb bag) Reviews

My  2 dogs started eating Iams Healthy Naturals about a month ago and I am really impressed with the nice results so far.  They were eating a high end food and my male began chewing and biting his legs and paws and the female had chronic loose stools. I knew this food was really not agreeing with either one but I really wanted the best diet possible for them and somehow I associated highest price=best food.  Was I wrong!   Out of frustration I picked up a bag of the Healthy Naturals and began transitioning them from the old food to the Iams, increasing the… read full review »

I purchased this food thinking it would be great for my dog; it would be healthy and still have the wonderful effects of other iams food that my dog has eaten. Judging by the dog's response, the results were "not so great tasting and less filling." I would imagine that with iams' reputation for nutrition, the original products are probably fine for my dog (the vet says the original products were already very high quality), and my pet won't walk around acting like she is starving… read full review »

I bought this because my vet recommended it. My  dog patches loved it. It costs a little more, but it makes her coat very shiny and soft. She loves the flavor and the size of the pieces. I like knowing I am giving her something that is vet recommended. I know I am giving her an all natural and healthy dog food from a name I can trust. Not only will your dogs love this - you  will too!  — I found quite a decrease in stools while feeding this product.  ALSO, the smell of the stool was much easier on the senses, something we can ALL benefit from! — The dogs loved it.  It was just the right size for my girls.  Neither one had any problem with the size of the morsels.  Both bowls were cleaned up almost as fast as I put them down!   — With this food I also found that I could add a little warm water to it and make a nice wet food as a special treat.  I was able… read full review »

I am sorry, I can't in good conscience recommend this food to anyone.. My dogs did not like it at all. I had to try everything to get them to try and eat it. The couple that did, had horrible diarrhea.. Very quickly their coat showed signs of malnutrition, drying, and flakiness.. They didn't have the same energy, or attention span.. I didn't even finish the bag.. I don't think this food has proper nutrition for active large dogs.. It might be fine for tiny breeds that don't do much, or don't expend much energy. I am in the third week of a food trial with my dog and this product. I own a schnauzer and she is allergic to every thing. I have tried other Iam's products with her in the past and found her to get up set stomach and loose stools. So far her pink skin from her allergies is subsiding and she seems to love the taste. I am really hoping that this is a food we can stick with. I will update this if we have any problems, but at this time we are happy. This is cheaper than the food from the vet.
