Most HelpfulI was surprised my mom actually wanted to see I Am Legend since the previews made it look a little scary to me. In the end, we all enjoyed the film and overall I can't give it less than 5 stars. I almost gave it 4 stars because it did scare me a little, but then realized it was meant to be a horror...

Most HelpfulI have always been a big fan of Will Smith and usually love all his movies. But....
Where do I begin????? The most exciting part was at the very end.
The movie starts out with some news show. A woman is being interviewed and she claims the scientists have found the cure for cancer. She goes over the...
read full review »Bottom-Line: On many levels I Am Legend entertains, but in the end falls a little short of the novels mark, but it still managed to stick to me like peanut-butter.
I Am Legend is the latest screen adaptation of Richard Matheson's 1954 science fiction novel of the same name. This Will Smith vehicle is the third (credited) movie based upon the novel; the other two are The Last Man on Earth (1964) with Vincent Price, and The Omega Man (1971) with Charlton Heston. But a convincing argument can be made that the book has influenced scores of other movies (and video games) over the years most notable...
read full review »This definately isn't one that I would recommend for children. It is frightening and the layout of the movie makes it seem like something that could really happen and the scary thing is that it could. I was pleased that there was very little foul language, and that's always a plus for me!
I found that the movie's strongest point was Will Smith. With any other actor the movie would not have had a leg to stand on. I am a huge Will Smith fan and I feel that he was a huge asset to this movie.
I have not read anything that this movie was based on or seen any of the prior B-Movies. I must say...
read full review »Will Smith is possibly the biggest (and most unappreciated) film star I have seen. And I mean that with all of my film-noggin power (is that a word?). Mainly because every movie he's been in guarentees millions of dollars. And yes, they are involve his witty humor, his power abs and sexy looks, and even his ability to kick some ass. But in this movie, you see a very different Will Smith, a somewhat, how should I say, "realistic," on his character, Robert Neville.
The story is about a guy in the future, where gas is 6 dollars a gallon, who's actually...the last guy on Earth.
Ok simple enough,...
read full review »I went with a diverse group of family members to see "I Am Legend" on the first night of its release, and none of us were very impressed. As always, Will Smith doesn't disappoint, and the crumbling and overgrown Manhattan set is very convincing. Additionally, Sam the dog is probably the best thing in the movie, but I don't think there is anything else I can recommend about this pic.
The premise is only minimally convincing, so the movie is somewhat set up to fail. Throughout the film, there are flashbacks that explain what happened to everyone in the world, and how Will Smith is left...
read full review »"I am Legend" came out on preview, I knew I was going to have to see it! Of course, they do try to pull you in with the previews! Successful!
Saw this at the theatre which was definitely a plus! Loved It! Could not wait for the video to come out so we could watch it again at home! Have probably watched it four or five times since we bought it!
I do love Will Smith as an actor, but I am a critic also!. However, Will does not disappoint! He played his character well! Especially when he went a little off and started talking to the mannequin in the video store like she was real, then getting upset...
read full review »I am Legend. Based on the many commercials for this film I was expecting something amazing; something fantastic; something that would keep my attention, be suspenseful.
I was completely disappointed.
While this is a great film, worth renting for sure, the amount for the movie theatre was more than I would have spent IF I had known what the film was truly like. Will Smith gives an admirable performance as what he believes to be the last human on earth. The night-time and dark areas give way to a mutated human race that feed on the living...much like the living dead movies, these are a type of...
