Will Smith is possibly the biggest (and most unappreciated) film star I have seen.  And I mean that with all of my film-noggin power (is that a word?).  Mainly because every movie he's been in guarentees millions of dollars.  And yes, they are involve his witty humor, his power abs and sexy looks, and even his ability to kick some ass.  But in this movie, you see a very different Will Smith, a somewhat, how should I say, "realistic," on his character, Robert Neville.

The story is about a guy in the future, where gas is 6 dollars a gallon, who's actually...the last guy on Earth.

Ok simple enough, but here's the thing; everyone else is a infected somewhat zombie/vampire, worse yet, its a combined zombie/vampire.  Scary! Whooo ahhhh!

Ok, and so Robery Neville is a survivor because he's a smart scientist.  And this scientist is athletic, and a gun friendly colonal.  Makes you think if you want to be a survivor, you gotta have guns against those zombie/vampire infected people, oh and be smart.  (However, later in the movie Robert does some dumb things).

And well, he wants to cure them, the infected people.  You can't blame him.  Even if all of them want to suck his blood out and eat his brains like a zombie/vampire would do, he still wants to help out!  (*Standing ovation)

Anyway, throughout the movie you can't help but applaud to the work Will Smith has done.  Yes the Fresh Prince did quite the job by acting like a person who has to talk to someone, well because he's lonely.  And when I saw this movie, (remind you, that I'm a film critic, so I'm not like any other, I'm better, *sticks tongue) people were confused why Robert was talking to the manicans.  Jesus people, remember 'Wilson,' from Cast Away?  When people are lonely, they talk to anything that's remotely human.  Our species is different from others because we can talk (we can't solve political issues a 3rd grade class can fix, but we can talk!)  But anyway, Will Smith's best performance according to me.

The reason why its three stars is that its different.  Really, it is.  From Will Smith's role to the survival genre that's spawned in this decade starting with 28 Days Later, its different and people don't like that.  I'm just a messenger.  I personally like the somewhat new approach.  Also, for some obvious outcomes in the action scenes.  I wish I can jump through windows like people in the Matrix, and well, I hate breaking bones.  Leave it to the proffessionals I guess, but upgrade the action just a bit!

Well, if you like all those wonderful things, then you'll like this movie; and take note on the Bob Marley/Butterfly messages.  The symbolism for those two would come at you like the sun rising.  "Give Peace a chance."

By the way, zombie/vampires are cool.
