I have always been a big fan of Will Smith and usually love all his movies. But....

Where do I begin?????  The most exciting part was at the very end.

The movie starts out with some news show. A woman is being interviewed and she claims the scientists have found the cure for cancer. She goes over the stats of their findings, the tests run and so on.

Then it's magically 3 years later. All of New York is deserted, grass is growing on the streets, cars abandoned, buildings in ruins and everything looks like it's been covered with a huge layer of dust. Then as the camera pans back, you see a bright red and white car, a Mustang I think it was, speeding down the streets. Of cource the driver is Will Smith. Sitting in the passenger seat is his dog, a German shep he's had since a puppy.

Then after you watch him drive at terribly high speed around the city for a while you're thinking something exciting has to happen any second...maybe a few more seconds...ok quite a few more seconds go by and then out pops deer! Yes ordinary deer and bucks running all over the place. What's the importance of all the deer? I have no idea because since he's all alone in the sealed off New York, he's been left with all that free food and drink. But he stops a couple times to try and shoot one. Maybe he wanted some fresh meat, who knows.

Sounds good so far? It gets worse..............................

Will and his faithful dog decide they are going to chase after one of these deer so they head off on foot. Oh and I should mention his watch alarm goes off all the time reminding him of this and that...what ever they may be. The only one I was clear about was when it was close to sunset. Anyway Will and his dog run after this deer and have it in his sights. He's just about to pull the trigger when all of a sudden a lion shoots past him and grabs to deer. Needless to say he's mad about it but when he sees the male lion leading 2 cubs over to the kill he decides to let them have the deer so they go home.

In the next scene you see him making dinner for he and his dog, telling the dog not to argue with him about eating his veggies. Because the dog didn't eat them, he will have to eat a double helping of veggies the next day. Will locks up his house with metal doors and windows, sealing them inside safely. Then he goes down to his basement lab and lifts the cover to some experiments...which were a bunch of rats infected with the virus. Everyone was infected, except for him so he was trying to make an antidote.

Very often through the movie Will remembers the last moments he spent with his wife and daughter. How he rushed them to the edge of town, how he put them onto a helicopter and sent them to safety. I was confused about weather there was an accident and the helicopter crashed, killing all of them or if they made it out but were later victims to the virus. It was never clear.

Then Will goes out to a special place at noon every day, making a radio broadcast telling anyone who might hear, he is still there. No one comes. Oh I should mention he goes to a video store every day and picks out new videos. He has mannequins dressed and placed here and there like they are real people. He talks to them as he sees them too. And there is one, a female one that he's afraid to talk to because he's afraid she'll give him the brush off.

Will decides to capture one of the infected creatures...ZOMBIES, the same old tired and worn out zombies. Yes they try and grab non infected and they eat them and you can get infected by them if you get bitten. His faithful dog gets bitten and he ends up having to choke it to death. Of course he's mad and hurt and decides to drive his car...after sunset, into a pile of the beasts, killing as many as he can. Just as he's about to be bitten himself, out of the blue comes bright lights of a car. I should mention sunlight of any kind kills the creatures and burns their skin. A woman and her son rescue him.

To make a long and boreing movie short and spare you the tears of boredom, in the end the creatures find his home and attack. Will, the woman and kid all seal themselves in his basement lab. They discover the creature he'd earlier captured and done experiments on holds the cure. He draws some of her blood and gives it to the woman and tells her to make sure she gets that into the right hands. The creatures are using their faces to bash into the plexiglass in an effort to get to them and Will realizes the glass is breaking. So he puts the woman and kid in a safe spot. He takes a grenade and when they break through the glass, they all die.

But the woman and kid end up finding the remaining survivor camp and that's the end of the story.  I TOLD YOU IT WAS BOREING!!!!!

I believe every things has another side.First he treats his dog like kid and the only friend he has. That the reason why he argue about vegetable, even if was a lot of food left over I will think that no all will be in good condition.
About his family is really clear that they die when the helicopters crash.
I agree that this movie is not the best that Will Smith did,but the whole move try to let us know what happened when the human wants to be God.
And when the women came and save him is always a hope no matter in which situation are you, also they put Faith back into the game.
